Just an absolutely stellar game. I’m a bit biased because I love this style of game, but this one was really great. Gorgeous graphics, fun mechanics, and an interesting story; I really had no complaints about the game. I would put this game below Limbo but above Inside, and highly recommend it to anyone that even remotely likes this style of game.

How annoying is the “zero deaths” achievement? And are there any other missables?

Only missable is the zero deaths, and even that isn’t too bad. If you’re spotted and you think you’re going to die just pause and restart at the last checkpoint (checkpoints are plentiful, so you never go back very far), and if you do die just quit out of the game (hit the guide/nexus button, scroll down to your game, hit start/menu, select quit) and when you start it up again you’ll be at the last checkpoint you passed. With the SSD reloading the whole game is pretty quick too, so you don’t have to sit through minutes of loading screens each time you die.

The only thing that tripped me up is you have to have zero deaths on your save file when you complete the game to get it, so you can’t just do chapter selected afterwards to replay areas you died in, you need to start a brand new save. But there are 3 save slots, so that shouldn’t be an issue. I just didn’t know that so I ended up going through the game 3 times since the 2nd time didn’t count (and I didn’t want to worry about no deaths my first time through). If you aren’t dying a ton the game is also only about 4 hours long, so not too large of a commitment.

Ladies and Gentlemen, We Got em

This was actually really refreshing to play. Great achievement design. This is a top down humorous pixel art with metriodvaina elements. The potential turn off is the said humor because it is 4th wall breaking and references galore but they are still timely. Has accessibility options to make the game easier. It does have collectibles but if you’ve ever played a game before you will find them easily. It was satisfying to figure out a puzzle to get some of the side stuff. The map will tell you if have 100% area as well

Completion #71: Avatar: the Last Airbender The Burning Earth

Well I was busy playing a lot of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak after it released and decided to get back on the achievement grind and figured I’d finally do this infamous one to start

Completion #72: Planet of Lana

God did I love this game! It was beautiful from start to finish in both the visuals and music! Super fun, interesting story with impactful moments and most importantly Mui is too good for this world

. Only complaints I have, and they’re super nit picky, is the walking and especially crouching speed is really slow, but that’s my only gripe really and it’s not a big one at that. Higley recommend the game!

Completion #73: Star Wars Episode 1 Racer

I remember playing this way back in the day as a little kid, it was a great blast of nostalgia for sure! Grabbed it just in time before it left, with it being May’s GWG and enjoyed messing around with it and getting the completion!

Completion #74: Hoa

Another May GWG it was a fun little puzzle platformer, nothing too special but I enjoyed it for the most part. Only bit I didn’t like was the last level in which the controls get inverted and the world is upside down and or spinning around as you travel through various parts. Oh and I curse the dev that thought it was a good idea to make an achievement worth 0 G for doing that level without getting hit once by an enemy, damn you

Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer

The S-blade has a hackblood charge! You know when you find a crappy looking DOOM clone from the 90s and was only available on PC/Sega Saturn and you had never heard of before? Well, that’s what Slayer X reminds me of.

If you like the idea of one 90s edge lord making his dream game in his bedroom and filling it with so much cringe it’ll make you nauseous, this is the boomer shooter for you. Fans of Hypnospace Outlaw should enjoy this one.

I found playing it slowly on the hardest difficulty to be very enjoyable. It has a so bad it’s good vibe and I loved it.

It has a nice interesting story and not much in the gameplay department. Nice quick completion and easy achievements.

Decided to clean up the last 4 achievements whilst watching the Dorito Pope show. That last achievement was painful slog. Very unique and fun game.

Played it years ago on PC and had to replay it after the Playstation showcase. Didn’t know you had to play it 3 times (normal, hard and Speedrun) for all achievements. Not hard but too much grind. My last two playthrough on hard and Speedrun took around 1h each.

Completion #75: Coffee Talk Episode 2

This was a fun completion, I really enjoyed the first game and the sequel is no different! It’s still the same in many key ways but with a few little additions that take it up just that little bit more. Music is amazing as like the first game and I spent many hours with the game on in the background as I was working just so I could vibe out to the music. Wonderful experience from start to finish!

Graphic looks like early/mid 360, but gameplay is still excellent. Sadly it’s only 30 FPS. Still a fun game.

Oh, I made it into the Top 5 of this week. Thanks to Island Farmer, a short and very cheap ‘puzzle’ game with very easy 1000gs.

I can’t recommend this as a puzzle game, its more like a memory thing with generous amount of help. It doesn’t get any more easy. I paid less than 3 bucks and feel ripped off

Cute little platformer that never really presents much of a challenge and is a very quick playthrough. Not sure if I’d recommend purchasing, but it’s free with Gold through tomorrow and it’s totally worth it for free.

I liked this game a lot more than I expected to. Good mix of different type of events, fun to play with friends, and (generally) quick rounds make it easy to pick up when you don’t have much time. Only bad thing about the achievements are that some are grindy/buggy.
