Excited to see what the future holds for us. Hopefully more games at a quicker pace.

I wouldn’t mind them pushing Halo IP into different genres too.

Wow, 343 Industries is now called Halo Studios?

Well honestly i just felt a bit of hype for Halo again.

The thing is Halo Infinite had a very good gameplay, but something had to happen during the development, if they are able to fix that and put an epic campaign, we’re really back.

Meanwhile, patience.

If launches on day one for next console…

A rebrand gives me hope as it is one that practically wants to reboot itself. Whenever the first title release, it’s going to be their make or break. It’s the old saying goes, you can’t make another first impression.

Yeah, it will be key and hopefully they launch with full content and not kill momentum like they did with Infinite. I guess going to Unreal allows for my flexibility due to larger talent pool and flexibility since many are knowledgeable about the engine

This is like a generational technology leap for Halo, lol. Hopefully everything Halo (like Forge) comes with it.

That looks a lot like a Halo CE remake to me, the Master Chief armor, the environments and the elite all scream Halo CE remake to me, with multiple projects in development on a new engine for 343i it would make sense for the first project on UE5 to be a Halo CE remake, I really hope it is, so much potential in a remake, it ranks at the number one remake of old games I’ve been wanting for years, especially if they add parts of the “The Flood” book in it.

I just really want a Halo CE remake lol.

But whatever it is, looking good, I’m assuming one of these projects is aiming for a next gen Xbox console launch release window in 2 or 3 years.

Pretty certain I mentioned years ago when the rumors were swirling that 343 should go to Unreal Engine especially due to the fact that they hire contractors to work on the game. This way, hiring those with UE experience, they can hit the ground running instead of learning the engine for months ad by the time they learn it, their contract is up.

All sounds good but I do wish they kept the 343 Industries name. Oh well.

Please, no remakes or remasters. Just work on Halo 7 and have it be a great 12-15 hour linear campaign. Eliminate the open world bullshit and just focus on what matters most in regards to teh campaign - story/characters/gameplay.

I’m still skeptical about the transition to UE5, regarding gameplay and sandbox, but the graphics they’re showing here are making me really happy. It looks insane. Really good surprise on a sunday evening.

Meh, the only thing about this that’s mildy interesting to me(we have been hearing about UE5 switch rumors and the denials for a while), is that The Coalitions tech team will be able to provide the kind of support Halo Studios wouldn’t get from anyone else.

Edit: Wanted to add Ninja Theory’s expertise could also come in handy.

To be fair, there are legitimate deficiencies with UE5 and Epic having a near-monopoly on middleware isn’t a future I’m embracing. There’s also plenty to be said about bespoke engines… but yeah, I guess we’re just “haters”.

What’s funnier to me is how people are still falling over themselves over tech demos… especially with Unreal Engine (there are still elements of UE4 that were promised that still don’t exist in 5 ffs). How have some of you gotten collective amnesia

They announced the next halo was being built on UE5 a while ago though, the only part that’s new is that all Halo games are being built on it and that there are multiple projects in the works.
