I was content on waiting a long while for a good well priced TV to compliment my Xbox Series-X…but I’m super tempted to pull the trigger on this Vizio OLED 55-H1. I’ve always been a Samsung guy and always a bit skeptical of Vizio, but this TV is getting some pretty glowing reviews and it checks all of the next-gen boxes.
It hasn’t been out on the market for very long and apparently it’s already received several firmware updates which users are reporting good results in various fixes, so that’s good news that Vizio is being responsive to reports of issues. There was a VRR issue with Xbox and I’m not sure that’s been addressed yet, but it seems that it should be soon.
I’m going to sit on this one for a while, I think my KS8000 will do just fine with the Series-X for now. I want to give this Vizio a bit more time out in the wild and see what people say about it when they get their Series-X’s connected to it. I’m excited about it though.
So, my TV is weird. It’s 4K HDR on a budget called Hisense. It has 120hz mode but it only has HDMI 2.0 so I won’t be seeing the 4k@120 but maybe 1440@120
I jumped on this Vizio P Series with HDMI 2.1 4K/120 support this week (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-65-class-p-series-quantum-series-led-4k-uhd-smartcast-tv/6416449.p?skuId=6416449), and it really seems to be a great TV for the price so far. The input lag on this is great and comparable to the LG OLED. Their latest firmware fixed the VRR apparently, and it seems to be working on Sekiro which was uncapped framerate already and was much smoother when I tried it out on here. And I hooked up my gaming laptop to try out 120 fps Minecraft just to confirm the frame rate, and boy am I excited to check out some of the 120 fps games at launch now after seeing that.
My impatience for Xbox Series X launch just went up a lot by checking out VRR and 120 fps on my 65" TV
Nice …I’m hyped for Series-X. Glad to hear they patched the VRR issue. I’m pretty certain I’m going to grab this new oled from Vizio. Probably going to wait until around Black Friday. Best Buy actually had it on-sale last week ($100 off) so they’ll probably do it again.
Since this thread is about TV’s and monitors, there is a (US) sale currently for a Dell 32 inch gaming monitor with VESA HDR400 rating. It’s 1440p, so HDMI 2.0 shouldn’t be a terrible loss but also has AMD Freesync Premium Pro and a 120hz refresh rate via HDMI. I just bought two for a SOHO setup since I was recently informed my work-from-home situation is now permanent.
for my office I don’t have much room. Biggest I can get in there is a 43 inch. I wish Somebody would make a high end next gen ready 43 inch tv. Maybe 2021. In the meantime I am thinking of this or maybe a 43 inch v series vizio. Any advice
Not at all price competitive with your link or my previous one, but:
I thought about this, but at 4k I’d have wanted HDMI 2.1. At that price, I think I’d rather push for the LGCX 48 inch and wall mount it and sit a bit further back.
However, as a work monitor I’d be concerned about OLED burn in.
I’m so glad I was able to still get an LG B9 55 inch for 1200$ here in Canada before they ran out. I took a guess because of the processor inside the TV possibly not supporting 120hz at 4K, but now that it has been tested and confirmed to work I’m quite happy about my purchase!
I preordered a 144hz 4K HDMI 2.1 monitor from eve. 750$ including the stand or 650 without. Put a 100$ deposit down and will wait for the reviews to complete my order. It has hdr 600 too.
Their Prices are going to climb though when it is out.
hey doesn’t every vizio do 120 fps even if its not 4k? The vizio v series for example 40 inch and 43 inch list 120. I know its probably not 4k 120 so shouldn’t it be 1440 or 1080 at 120? Or is this one of those frame insertion things? I feel like waiting till next year would be better for tvs
The nano ips tech for monitors should be more affordable as well as hdr getting improved with these models being up to 750 nits of brightness. These are gonna be in for reviews by the end of the year. Other major brands are probably gonna make their own iteration so if you wait hdmi 2.1 monitors are gonna be much more affordable with better specs in the next 6 months
Can’t wait to setup my LG 55" CX OLED and then connect the Xbox Series X to it. So freaking hyped!!! On November 10th, I will be in gaming heaven aka my room. LMAO.
