Yakuza / Like A Dragon |OT| That's Rad!

I read on Resetera that it’s purely based in Kamurocho.

Anyone know what time the Kaito DLC releases?

Not a clue, I’m scrambling to finish a few games off before this comes out

Since Lost Judgment is part of free play days I absolutely was going to check it out at least, even though I’ve yet to start with the first game.

But wow, that beginning is not what I imaged at all, very different from something like Yakuza 0 where you walk a few meters and you fight. Here you follow someone, trying not to get noticed, snap a photo etc. It’s different. Not yet sure if I’m a fan of this tailing stuff. Is that a big part of the games?

That tailing mission is literally the only one in the main story, lol, just so you know. The first chapter is a little slow in terms of gameplay. Judgment has quite a few more of these tailing missions so they toned it down quite a bit in this game. They added these detective elements (tailing, investigations, stealth, etc.) to differentiate Judgment and its sequel a bit from the mainline games. You’re still fighting the majority of the time (and they certainly did not sleep on the combat) so don’t worry about that. Personally I think it does help spice things up just a bit.

That is good to know. I don’t mind it a few times and it’s a nice way to have it differ from Yakuza as you said.

I think the combat in Lost Judgment is the best in the series. There are a few annoying detective-y things that come up if you’re invested in doing all the unique side content (photography club was annoying) but overall it’s pretty light on tedium.

Agreed. The combat never got boring for me.

Looks like the Kaito Files is gonna be a global launch at 12 AM EST tomorrow, so no New Zealand trick here. Oh well.

That’s a shame. I wonder why it’s different for each console?

I’m on vacation, will only be able to start playing tomorrow, but pretty excited to play

Same, but I’m out until next week. Can’t wait though.

Downloaded but don’t have time to play right now. Can anybody tell me if it spoils the main story in LJ for my buddy who didn’t get to the end?

I played a couple of hours and looks like a whole different story, but I can’t guarantee

Is the game a separate install ?

Thanks!

It was a separate download but it’s a choice in the title screen menu. It has its own save slots that live in that section too.

Just finished the DLC. The final moments really caught me, maybe the most surprising plot twist in a Yakuza game. They really improved Kaito, showing he is also a skillful detective, not only a muscle sidekick.

I just missed some side quests, they make the world sou much lively, but is understandable because it is a DLC.

And now I can confirm the story has nothing to do with Lost Judgment main story, it’s playable by itself. @SpiderLink

Wrapped it up two days ago. Good story, good combat. Really enjoyed Kaito’s Bruiser style (the reflect is soooo good), hardly touched Tank though. I also really liked the return of (small mechanic spoiler) the roving super-tough single enemy from 6 (and I guess 0). Really lets you test the combat!

Finished The Kaito Files. I loved Tank style.

Can we hope for Yakuza 8 this year?
