Yakuza / Like A Dragon |OT| That's Rad!

By the time you finish 0-6 I would guess that Like a Dragon will be on Game Pass.

This Yakuza 0 impressions video of Huber from Easyallies makes me crack up everytime. I love his enthusiasm.

So I decided to go fishing and I caught a Filefish. I canā€™t eat it raw, where do I cook it or do I just sell it?

Itā€™s too long for me to remember it but itā€™s possible that some fish you catch are important for few substories. Of course you can catch a new one. Also necessary for the 100% completion achievement.

Yakuza 3? You can sell them at the market. Salmon can be sold for 100,000 yen.

Oh again, it wasnā€™t meant as an attack. More like getting more onboard in Japanese Cinema before Idol Culture took over everything :P.

-Frowns- ANIME ME SMASH! Nahā€¦ I like it, I just am more of a Space Opera fan. Modern Anime became a trope that was more or less itā€™s own culture.

I just think that, with some exceptions, one should never dub what the artist intended. Especially when the voice actor put that much work into it. I rather stimulate culture in voices per region, so they too can grow culturally. But I think it is a HUGE no no in the case of movies. An actor pours their heart and soul into a role, that includes their voice. So in those cases a dub is actually destroying the hard work not adding to it.

That said, in animation I am a bit more forgivingā€¦ but still I rather have the original idea of the artists behind it than a dub. But there are certainly exceptions.

Plus subtitles really help with your reading skills. There has been quite a bit of research in this matter that kids that live in subtitle countries read a lot better than kids that live in dub countries. Even in my parentā€™s origin country, were before kids read a lot better and spoke English and German to a reasonable degree? This is now mostly lost as dubbing took off. Not only has their reading skill faltered (Which they blame on reading books as well), but the average level of German and English is far lower than it used to be.

Well a good one to start with is the Zatoichi film series. The first one is in black andwhite and has a very ā€œseriousā€ tone. To a point were it getā€™s dated and funny. But since they switched director all the time the tone can change quite a bit. But you will notice the voice acting being very similar to what is in the Yakuza series. The protagonist might not be a Kiryu archetype, but you will also meet characters like that.

The voice tone is very much recognizable from such films :). Especially the shouting parts and the body movements of the people that try to beat Ichi up or kill him :P.

Jup, this game for Japanese Dads will take about 40 till 80 hours per part in the series :P. So youā€™re looking at about 300 hours if not more of playtime. Unless you rush through it and miss all the funny parts.

And Majima works so hard for those :(. Can you really say no to Everyoneā€™s Idol Goro? :stuck_out_tongue: external-content.duckduckgo.com

Im at the beginning of ch. 2 and dont know where to go

Which Yakuza game are you playing?

Let me guess, youā€™re stuck trying to find information on Tachibana? I got stuck there as well, so I searched up a video playthrough of the game. Donā€™t recall where exactly you have to go though.

Go to Mach Bowl on the west side of the map. Pressing Y should show you everything on the map. Scroll down until you see Mach Bowl so youā€™ll know where to go.

Never mind, others already answered it.

I just started at Kiwami 2, and itā€™s off to a great start:

Ok, Iā€™ll keep it around for now then.

Anyway, Iā€™m really, really enjoying it now. And Majima is just awesome, gotta love that first cutscene, wow.

Iā€™ve been taking on several sub stories too, today and I noticed that while in terms of what they have you do isnā€™t anything special, I like the stories of these brief missions. Take the cop for example, more to the guy than what you would first think.

I think Yakuza 0 really shows that a more smaller, contained game world can have its benefits. Bigger isnā€™t always better. It works great for these games.

Youā€™re completely right about Yakuza side missions. You donā€™t do much in terms of gameplay but the content of the side missions is so good that it puts most other games side content to shame. I do the side content in Yakuza because itā€™s so entertaining, not because I want sone fancy reward at the end of them.

I agree, but I must admit though, GTA has spoiled people. First thing my sister didā€¦ walk to a car to carjack it! :P. When she couldnā€™t :ā€œWow, this game sucks, they want me to walk everywhere!? Pass!ā€

:(. Wanted to scowl like Kiryu so badā€¦ but then Iā€™d look more dad than him and only Kiryu can look that much like a Dad.

I just rolled credits on Yakuza 4. Iā€™ll start Yakuza 5 tomorrow. Iā€™m looking forward to it.

Wow, that was fast. I am spreading them out a bit.

3 and 4 are probably the shortest in the series so far. Apparently 5 is one of the longest though.
