I paused at Y4. Judgment is really great, only more of the same. But the story, investigating stuff, cases and characters are so good. Combat is also really great. Yagami > Kiryu.
The Judgement that we got is a remaster. It is not a cross gen game. Why is there an expectation that a game only released for PS5/XS should get an Xbox One version?
Remaster means pc higher settings nowadays, the core game is the same. If you play Judgement on a laptop it would run like on a XB1 with similar settings and frames (low rez assets, shadows, 900p30fps, like the PS4), so I donāt understand skipping XB1.
I think weāve developed certain expectations due to all of the free upgrades and cross gen over the last year. This is an entirely different SKU of a game that no last gen console is going to see. It would have been nice for them to port the old one at the same time but maybe they just had no intent on working with the old game.
Will be interesting to see which platforms Judgment 2 comes to though.
Well, from the start of 8th gen this ādifferent SKU thingā has become a bullshit used as an excuse for the greedy publishers. All three major platforms for big games are essentially x86 pcs, in fact todayās, only Sony cannot manage the transition because of their greediness and also their technical inability (the saves controversy is ludicrous). Also I find financially strange to not port an already made game (PS4 version can run on XB1 and vice-versa) on a very big platform already there. Itās certainly strange.
Lost Judgement news confirms that Judgement not on XB1 makes absolutely no sense at all.
Haha is the new one also coming to xb1?
Yep.
Sounds like a win for Xbox fans. Simultaneous release, both consoles? Sounds like a best-case scenario (though I guess a PC release and Play Anywhere support would be better)
I just finished 4. Need to take a break before diving into 5, which I hear is very beefy.
Finally beat Yakuza 5 and thought the story was well done even though certain sections drag. I do have some complaints with certain boss fights didnāt like facing key characters twice and also see characters get beaten easily then to later become beasts during finale Story wise I feel Yakuza 5 was better than 4, but I do feel game drags way too long tbh, but its worth the ride
Yakuza 5 is huge, the only part I found a little stale was the Shinada chapter, anyway the story is great. The franchise is not too serious, but among the big japanese franchises I find it the one with the better writing overall: Metal Gear is literally nonsense, FF lmao, Kingdom Hearts lmaox2, RE has changed course too many times, DMC is literally ākill the demon kingā every game, etcā¦I can go on for hours, but Yakuza is almost unique with its well connected narrative between episodes (among big franchises clearly, I donāt know many small to mid jrpg franchises).
Yeah, I enjoy itās storytelling while itās over the top thereās always a deeper message in every entry in the series. For me itās a unique style of storytelling in video games because not many games can match how over the top the story can be, but also have a deeper message in each entry. I do admit some fights can be annoying, but I think thatās part of the charm.
For me I felt Saejima part dragged on too much, but it had a promising start. For me I liked Shinadaās part even though it kind of felt out of place for the most part, but me being a baseball fan is probabl why I enjoyed it a lot.
Mustā¦completeā¦allā¦taxiā¦missions!
So I beat Judgment last Sunday but I kinda forgot to give my thoughts on the game.
Itās another fantastic game from RGG. Like honestly it has my favorite combat out of any of the Yakuza games. Youāve got two styles, you can leap over enemies, do wall-jumps, so overall thereās a lot more variety and I love it. The story was real interesting throughout, and the finale was fantastic. The remaster is great. It feels really nice to play at 60 FPS, and it looks damn good. Extremely excited to play Lost Judgment in about 4 months, itās about to be another RGG banger.
Iām on chapter 9 of Judgment. Real life has slowed me down so I havenāt been active on here or Xbox Live. Iām loving the game though and hoping to finish it up this week.
There are some things in Judgement that I could do without and hope they donāt make their way into the rest of the series. One of the major ones is the system of fatal wounds lol.
Fatal wounds are a bit of a bitch.
I have been struggling to find the time to get on with the game as well.
Yeah thats like my only complaint in that game and the mob enemies being insanely too much lol.
