I mean, I understand it, but it still bummed me out because it seemed mildly pointless to have ended how it did. It almost made me wish that another character died as well at the end… don’t want to say too much.
Despite my complaints, in general I thought they did a really good job with that game though.
I didn’t start the year with the thought of buying so many games. But then I saw some of these prices, a form of FOMO appeared I guess and then the buying began. But some prices truly were so damn good, just couldn’t ignore.
I checked my finances, like, can the most important being in the world for me, my dog eat, yep, can I eat? Yep, then it’s go time.
And there has been a time that I was dead set on playing a game just because I had just bought it or any kind of reason. But now I’m like, what game do I truly want to play? And then I go with it. Powerwash Simulator has eaten up a lot of gaming time this year and I am afraid 2 is going to do the exact same thing. Ah well.
The other three have 4 games each, plus lots of additional content such as dlc and extra modes to make it more forgiving/less damage. But also artwork, soundtracks, and one collection even has an animated episode.
This game - absolute masterpiece for what they were trying to do. They wanted to make a game that they could never have gotten signed before Xbox bought them, and it’s just so far out there I think they did it. The music fits really well, and I couldn’t stop taking screenshots because it’s so beautiful. Also, one of the other things that shows up from time to time is a great reference back to one of their Amnesia Fortnight projects & it really works in the world.
I had some minor complaints with camera angle a few times & I got stuck at one point because I didn’t see something in an area that I had been in, but overall a very artsy great game.
You only have to subtract it if you buy it during the year, not for everything you already have (thank goodness!!). And yes, Game Pass games don’t count (unless you own them). I still sometimes mention them but that’s why you’ll see me put a +0 for them like I did with Keeper.
I swear the puzzles at the end of the game could be spun off to make a standalone mini game, and the third Act? Could also be a separate game.
+1 Lego Pirates of the Caribbean
As with most of the lego games, I think most fun with a friend. When you complete everything else in the game, you unlock a “level” based on the original ride complete with the audio track they run there, and a flume you hop on between sections. Could have been really cool but they just made each stop a couple of waves of regular enemies for the movies, the lieutenants, and then the boss, and they all played the same. Having just finished Psychonauts 2 (and thinking of the Grulovia ride level) i wish this had been more fleshed out and better based on the ride, it had the potential to be a much cooler ending than it was.
+. 5 Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: Jack the Ripper dlc
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would when I started, leveling up abilities a little helped a lot with making it more enjoyable. Kind of interesting back story for Jack, and also was neat playing as him for a couple story missions. Good add on to a good game.
