I think the last completion I posted was Control. So here’s basically everything I’ve played since then. “Unfortunately” they’re all from subscriptions (except Halo,) so a grand total of zero.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is a decent arcade racer, if a bit repetitive. I feel like the car collection/upgrade system isn’t great. I basically just stuck to one or two cars, because they were faster than anything else, upgraded or not.

Mullet Madjack was a nice palate cleanser. Since I’m a pussy, I played it on easy.

The Enchanted World is a beautiful looking “sliding puzzle” game. It does get a bit frustrating on the later levels, though. (I just don’t have the patience for it and didn’t finish this one.)

Chernobylite was one of those games that sucked me in after a rough start. A fun enough shooter with light survival mechanics - on easy. I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed in on normal settings or above.

Toem is a cosy adventure/photography game that I quite enjoyed. I think it was previously on Game Pass as well.

As for Halo, I just started Halo 3 yesterday. But I’ll post the complete MCC completion when I’m done, so I don’t lose track.

Btw - is it me, or did the remasters of Halo 1 and 2 kind of ruin the atmosphere a bit? They’re obviously much higher resolution and such. But half the time I definitely preferred the original look.

Finished South of Midnight today. (+0 since on GamePass)

I haven’t seen/heard a lot of discussion about this game, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

The gameplay was nothing really special (though I found it fun and engaging for the most part), but I thought the story telling, music, and visual design were all truly excellent.

My only real gripes with the game were some minor camera issues and controls that were a touch finicky at times (this was a rare issue, but I occasionally had button presses that didn’t register, etc.)

I was also pretty tired of the “chase” sequences by the end of the game.

Overall, though this was a solid 8/10 for me.

I don’t believe it myself, but here’s another positive point!

+1 Hidden Cats in Spooky Town

I get the fascination now. It’s basically just a big hidden object game, but with cats. It’s very addicting, so much so that I was almost late for a group meeting today at church, because I wanted to find one more cat!

+1 Blacksite (360)

A short but decent enough FPS. (With a completely forgettable story.)

+1 Shadow Complex (360)
This was a fun Metroidvania-shooter kinda game. The backtracking can be a little annoying, but the game is small enough that it didn’t bother me too much. Kinda weird that it ends almost immediately after unlocking the final weapon upgrade and you barely get to use it.

+0 Jamestown (Steam)
Was looking for something to play on my Steam Deck and this was perfect for it. Pretty good shoot 'em up. Unfortunately it forces you to play on the hardest difficulty for the final level, which was too much for my limited skillz. (I love it when there’s a “normal” difficulty for casuals, but after 3 hours the game tells you to go f*** yourself.) Still enjoyed what I got out of it, though.

Total = 19.5

Oh this annoys me a lot when it happens in games. Weapons, upgrades, abilities… you get to use for like 5 minutes.

Yep I’ve grinded and got through the early story where I was underpowered and have finally begun to unlock all the skills I want and reap the rewards for my hard work…

“I’m unstoppable! Don’t fuck with me peasants! Don’t threaten me you bosses! I’ll take you all out, this is so awesome I’m so powerful!”

“Oh that was the end of the game…”

Too often it’s 90% grind and 10% actually getting to use all the mechanics, skills and fun stuff the developers spent all that time putting in lol…

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey - The Fate of Atlantis (dlc) +0.5

Well, that took a while! This expansion is huge, I probably poured 50 hours into it. I tend to do a lot of side content though. No regrets though, it was a great expansion with a very cool setting. Travelling through the Greek underworld with a huge amount of Assassin’s Creed meta-lore, things going all the way back to the first games, to discover both on and off the main path. As someone who really like AC, that was really nice and drove my exploration.

This had it all: New enemies, characters, huge maps to explore, new weapons, new skills, a lot of story, beatiful areas, boss fights and soo much lore!

I can’t recommend it enough. An awesome end to the Odyssey saga and my journey with Kassandra.

+0 Idle Wizard

A free idle game with easy achievements, nothing else really to say.

+0 Dordogne

An emotional walking sim about a woman trying to get back her memories of spending the summer with her grandmother as a child in an astranged family. It brought back memories of me staying the summer with my grandfather, the same summer I brought him his cat. The same cat I had for a few years that just passed away about six weeks ago. I am glad I played through it, even though I waited until the last day it was on Game Pass.

+1 Poker Night 2 (360)

This doesn’t have a story mode or anything. But I’ve won and unlocked all the collectibles. So there’s not much else left to do.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare +1

Knew nothing about it going in, but was positively surprised. A smaller game for sure, but an interesting one. The combat is still a bit so-so and the camera is not my friend but the story is pretty good. I like the Twin Peaks feeling of it all. Got all the collectibles etc. which enriches the story a lot, I’d almost say it’s wrong not to go after those. Very cool atmosphere.

This game is more action focused, and even has an arcade mode attached to it. Tried that for a bit, but I really don’t see the point with combat being the weaker part of the game.

I recommend this if you liked the first game!

How are bundles treated lol?

Do we just take a minus for the games we actually take keys for, or those we buy regardless of claiming the keys?

Bought a few charity bundles on Humble lol, could be about to take the biggest negative I think anyone has in this challenge :stuck_out_tongue:

Hm, I would say only the ones you actually claim counts in this case.

Anyone else have thoughts?

That would make sense to me - you can’t play the ones you don’t claim the keys for so they wouldn’t technically be in your backlog?
