Yeah, I would do Bioshock first simply because it’s shorter. It’s a very cool atmosphere in that game, some creepy exploration and fun shooting. I really should start the remaster, it’s on my “soon”-list after all.
+1 Astro Bot
Total 8.5
How was it?
One of the best games I’ve ever played. Just pure joy from beginning to end. Anyone who actually plays it and tries to shit on it has an agenda and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
It’s one thing if the genre isn’t your cup of tea, like how I don’t like JRPGs, don’t play them but also don’t make assessments of their quality. Anyone who claims they love platformers would find very little to fault in this if they are being honest. For example I don’t love the motion stuff with the monkey climbing in playroom, there is a little of it here, but doesn’t overstay its welcome but regardless didnt afffect my enjoyment of the game.
I’ll keep an eye out for a sale later on then. I’m not really into platformers, and I should probably play the free one I got with the PS5 first anyway hehe.
Astro Bot is just freaking awesome. I hope Sony makes Astro Bot their “mascot” and Team Asobi makes this a full series/franchise. I would love a new Astro Bot every 3-4 years.
Wanted to let you know, the motion controls can be turned off in the accessibility options which I did as I don’t like motion controls at all and it doesn’t matter what game it is. Very happy that the option to turn it off is in the game as opposed to being mandatory.
I completed Astro’s Playroom last Friday. Not 100% though. Took 4 hours 15 minutes. Enjoyed it. It’s like an 8.0/10.
Astro Bot though is an easy 9.0/10 minimum in my opinion. It’s that great. Game design is just on point. I’m not a platformer guy at all but im completing Astro Bot 100% because it’s simply worth it.
I don’t mind the rest of it for the most part, they only part I dont love is the climbing, particularly where you are supposed to move the controller in a circular motion front to back to make the monkey swing around the pole. It’s simultaneously impressive in its mechanics and annoying that I have to do it.
I did that in Playroom and was like, crap! I hope Astro Bot lets me turn it off and thankfully, it does because I don’t like motion controls at all regardless of what game it is.
I will say that in general, it adds to the game and all that. I just don’t like it. lol
+1 imaginary point
I dreamt last night that I completed a game that probably doesn’t exist. Should I be concerned if I am dreaming of completing games? Lol
Haha, maybe a little…
Not to encourage adding to your backlog, but The Crew 2 is only $1 right now!
Nice thanks, 80p in the UK so bought it just in case want to give it a go over the Christmas break (booked over 3 weeks off).
Good job I’m not in the challenge
I’m torn, cause that’s a great price, but… Ugh.
We won’t judge you either way, but I should mention that they also mentioned adding an offline mode, so I expect delisting soon.
To be honest I didn’t realize it didn’t already have an offline mode. Good call out.
Well, Space Marine 2 is great! I haven’t been able to play as much as I want, but it’s really fun.
It reminds me of Gears of War, but without the hindrance of the cover system and with a bigger melee focus. There’s an insane amount of enemies to fight at times, incredible engine. The environments are very cool, and despite the linear nature of the missions it feels very big. Some of the set pieces are absolutely fantastic.
I’ve mostly played solo, but the PvE Operations are very cool. You get to see the main campaign missions from another squads PoV, it’s very neat. Lot’s of stuff to level up and unlock both for PvE and PvP, so this will last me a while for sure.
For the Emperor!
- +1 - Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (XSX) - I still remember snagging this as the very first GBA game I owned, and all the nights I’d spend hunched under my snake light to play into the wee hours of the night (oh the days of non-backlit screens). The Castlevania collections have been extremely solid (arguably the best next to the Capcom collections of late or Rare Replay), and this conversion really highlights the great level design of CotM. Easily one of my favorite Castlevanias, but definitely trails behind Aria, for me personally.
Total = 16.5
- +1 - Castlevania: Dracula X (XSX) - the less said about the worst Castlevania release thus far, the better. Good gods, that was a terrible hour worth of a game…
Total = 17.5
Edit: And I say this as someone who owned the N64 Castlevania games, even they weren’t as bad…
-1 Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland (Epic Games freebie)
Damn you, Epic. Coming at me with a nostalgia low blow.
+1 X-Force Genesis
Another week, another easy completion I bought for the other contest complete. This cadence seems to be working well for me. It’s another shoot em up, this one with Rogue like elements.
