The goal is to help us raise the necessary funds to cover amazing industry events and provide you lovely lot with even more to enjoy as a member of the best community on the internet. The Sub-a-thon will be held on the 9th May starting at 7am EST, 12pm BST and will go on for as long as we can, up to 24 hours - events will include community game sessions, co-op shenanigans and importantly, incredible give-aways for our community with some genuinely cool prizes up for grabs.
Independent games coverage is bloody expensive, it turns out! So we’re turning to you, our wonderful, brilliant community to help us raise the necessary funds to make getting to events like Summer Games Fest and Gamescom even remotely possible.
The costs we’re looking to cover are flights* and hotels only, and in return we, for the first time EVER - will have not one, but TWO live-and-in-person podcasts, a first for the XboxEra podcast crew.
The first will be on the weekend before Gamescom, with the entire crew live and in person in Jon’s place, with a specially constructed set to mark the occasion. The next would be from Gamescom itself, though we admit we’re totally reliant on the hotel’s wifi, but we will find a way!
We’ll also bring you all the coverage we can across both events, with hands-on previews and footage from the show floor, and more.
