XboxEra Community Hangout |OT9| Waiting for Developer_E3

Agreed. I’ve seen quite a few articles in non-gaming media outlet discussing the game and the controversy. I have to assume there’s a fair few people who became aware of the game for the first time due to that media exposure. I suspect more often than not trying to organize any kind of boycott will result in a kind of Streisand-esque effect.

The controversy was BS from the start. J.K. literally has nothing to do with the game development. She owns Harry Potter and license it out. When they try to boycott the game they are not hurting J.K. she probably has never even play a videogame in her life lol.

In the end the game might lose out on like 1 million sales from the boycott or whatever? but, it still doing monster numbers and will probably sell over 20 million copies.

I really really should stop reading Sony ERA. I havent seen that much concern trolling in my entire life. Extremely low quality bait.

For those who’s into these, they’re finally making Master Chief.

What kind of bait we talking?

Crazy tweet “there’s a real chance Playstation is outperforming PC” talking about a typical console AAA game, marketed by Sony, which is showing just PS4-PS5 as platform on every ad.

If someone told us this just 10 years ago, probably nobody would have believed it, PC is the new king, and that’s a great thing.

This said, good on Sony, this game is going to push PS5 sales to an even higher level, seems they are going to break every console record sales this year. Their strategy reminds me a lot of MS’s one for the first half of X360’s life.

And something that makes me a bit sad, this game is one of these that has an aura, it’s been there since last year, many people were hyped and talked about the game and knew it would be breaking records, just like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk lately, im worried i’m not seeing that for Starfield yet, rumours are saying June, that’s 4 months only. The game’s going to do great numbers, but i would love to see it doing crazy ones, but, unless something changes soon… i dont know

ya xbox doesnt get the games that have the mindshare. I wouldnt be surprised if xbox got marketing for allen wake 2 but its not the same as hogwarts or star wars.

You guys are funny

I would get Ranni and Chief to pretend to get him to move on to another blue lady.

I’m mostly weird, but I agree that this mind share talk is pretty meh. Harry Potter is a massive IP, there’s a lot more people interested in this game than just the usual crowd of gamers, because of how long that IP has been around. That’s something that Elden Ring had because George R R Martin was revealed to be involved with it.

Is there a mindshare/concern thread? Maybe there is and I just have it on mute. If there isn’t there should be one, although I suspect that folks wouldn’t be able to resist still posting that stuff everywhere else anyway.

lol the reason MS probably isn’t too hot on licensed games is the issue of keeping a licensed game on gamepass long term or permanently. Not saying it’s impossible, but probably costs a lot of money compared to a non-licensed game.

The whole acquisition episode has brought countless concern trolling messages you can tell weren’t written in good faith from miles away. What can kind of discussion can stem from them?

Random thought: If a new Banjoo-Kazooie game is to release… will it do so on the Switch or Switch 2 as well?

No and it absolutely shouldn’t

Xbox is still suffering from releasing games like Ori on switch, the amount of “well Ori came to switch, maybe Hi-Fi rush will too” type posts to this day is never a good thing to have constantly stated

Xbox really needs to break that stigma and I know there will be people saying how much more it would sell on switch, so would every exclusive game if you made it multiplat, doesn’t mean you should

Nintendo aren’t entitled to a character/series they no longer own and if you need a completely different ecosystem to make sure your game is successful then it shouldn’t be brought back at all quite frankly

This idea that Xbox doesn’t like licensed ip basically ignores that Forza exists. Lots of car and music licensing.

Voted no, as Phil Spencer said in one interview, each console has their own exclusives to differentiate. I can however see a Banjo remake on the Switch.
