It’s funny how Microsoft can easily sway a good portion of COD crowd to migrate by giving out bonuses to GPU subs. There are people that buy Mountain Dew and Doritos just for extra COD content or perks.
I liked Saints Row, was never into the series before. Maybe that’s why?
Me neither. Although the first one on 360 was awesome. Great fun, nice graphics, physics, it had it all when there was no sign of a GTA for that generation back then. But I’ve never been a fan of the other games. But at least the dialogues were still decent but here, sheesh. Right after the prologue and you drive away, the protagonist starts to cuss to herself but it’s so insanely forced and just…fake.
And tech wise I find it embarrassing. That this even needs a 1080p mode because the 1440p mode is not smooth 100%, embarrassing. Can’t help but wonder wtf happened to Volition.
Imagine a permanent extra 10 or 20% on your battle pass progress, considering Warzone seasons run back to back, you’d probably have people subscribing all year long just for the perk, plus maybe a free skin once in a while. Add it to PC GamePass as well and you’ll be able to go get the PC crowd too and expand there. You could even do the same thing for games like overwatch, or give out a few packs of Hearthstone each month, I mean the possibilities are endless. You could probably get a lot of extra subscribers that way.
I liked it as well, it’s not a masterpiece that will change gaming forever but it was fun and I enjoyed my play through a lot so it’s a winner for me. I love map games like that as well because I love playing them while listening podcasts so going around doing all the side stuff while listening to a podcast is a great time.
I keep thinking why the hell aren’t they doing more with game pass like this, they are doing the bare minimum with stuff like ultimate perks. I think they’re getting people subscribing on mass right now without all this extra stuff they can do. I think they’re going to save this sort of stuff for once the numbers slow down as more incentives to join up once it’s slowed. If you are in their shoes, why would you give everything that’s easy to add and upgrade the service while it’s already doing great, save those easy adds/upgrades for later when it slows that way you got more time to come up with more ideas for something next time.
This is the same sort of thing as first product launches, they would always strip features back to re add them in version 2 to make people upgrade or buy in.
Yeah, the perks will be key later on.
Yeah, I think they’re going to leverage Blizzard to get gamepass subs up on PC. I can see them doing something similar to the Riot deal. They can pretty much say PC Gamepass/GPU get access to all OW characters, weekly hearthstone packs, extra XP and other COD perks, etc. I think i they’re able to do that and maintain Riot deal then PC gamepass will be very attractive for PC gamers since these F2P games can get pricey.
Haven’t played the new one yet but Saints Row 2 is a classic and the best in the series. It had just the right amount of camp and serious , where as they started to go more over the top with the third game. The forth was basically just crackdown.
Jez saying/“guessing?” Starfield will have user-generated content and won´t have performance mode (30 fps only).
He thinks Hellblade releasing this year is an optimistic view.
Just one more reason not to support this game. Not that I needed anymore.
Glad I’ll be playing on PC if this turns out to be the case. But surely it’ll have a performance mode. 30fps is yucky.
My expectation is that the systems in the game push the CPU pretty hard and it won’t be possible to scale down the graphics to achieve 60fps.
Here to remind people once again that the CPU also disctates a game’s frame rate and is something that is not as easily scalable as GPU bottlenecks.
Besides, the framerate in the demo was struggling to hit 30 nevermind 60.

“Jez and Rand predictions for 2023 from what little I’ve been able to listen.
Jez predictions:
-We see Avowed gameplay
-The Wandering Tower by Stoic Studio releases
-Starfield 30 fps limited, no performance mode. (this isn’t sourced)
-User generated content for Starfield.
-Diablo IV wins Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
Rand predictions:
-Starfield launches in April. 90+ Metacritic. Jez agrees it hits 90+.
-Hellblade II releases in September. Jez thinks it’s very optimistic that it releases this year, no inside sources.
They both call out Idle Sloth and say please don’t tweet out any of these. “
I remember Jez predicted we would see Avowed last year I really hope he’s correct this time around lol.
I 'm with Rand on this one. I feel like Hellblade 2 drops this fall.
