Anyone play FIFA? I haven’t played it for years, tried the EA 10 hours demo thing, Ultimate Team. So basically my first game I’ve got only mostly bronze, few silvers and a gold. Teams I need to play against are like the football version of the Harlem Globetrotters. That normal? Just does not make me want to play the game.

Yeah all them games are long games, Dead Island 2 story might be like 20 plus hours and doing side quest might be 100 plus hours lol
If you plan to buy all that day 1 most of them games will be $70 and take you a long time to beat.
If i had to buy a ful price game and drop it cause i didn’t like it, i would waste so much money.
Well, I dropped Dead Island 2 and Forspoken from my list. Will wait to see if/when Forspoken releases on Xbox and more specifically, Game Pass because im not spending $70 on it. With Dead Island 2, I have Dying Light 2 ultimate edition digitally so I don’t need Dead Island 2. If it reviews well, I may look into it later on but at launch, nah.
I rarely buy games day one and drop them. This generation, I have four games, all digital - Returnal, FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, Valkyrie Elysium and Sword & Fairy: Together Forever. Here’s the thing though, as long as my digital losses are equal or less than what im saving on games via Game Pass, im perfectly fine.
Disc based games, I bought Necromunda Hired Gun twice for $10 each time but traded it in both times so it was a minimal loss. Also bought Lego Star Wars twice but traded it in both times and made a profit. lol. I will be playing it on Game Pass in January.
All my disc based purchases get traded in once I complete them so to be honest, every $70 game ends up being $35-$40 for me which is fine. I haven’t had a disc based purchase that I bought day one at full price dropped yet and unlikely that I will.

Have you try Forspoken demo? i don’t have a PS5 and will never buy anything Playstation ever again after the bullshit they pull with Activision COD deal lol
Try the Forspoken demo and see if you like it, Buying 70 games and trading them back in for 30-40 still is losing out on 30-40 them money still add up.
When i buy a full price game i plan to finish the whole thing, so having Gamepass lets me actually try many games and dropping them without losing money.

Jez is right though… Bernie thinks blocking all deals even good ones is some kind of win and is good for the people is stupid and ignorant, coming from someone in his position of power.

Well yeah, trading games in for 50% is still me spending half the price but I have no problem with spending 50% of the day one retail price for a game I completed. Dead Space is $70 and I guarantee that I will complete the game so $35-$40 for it day one and I don’t have to wait which I wouldn’t do anyway is a good deal. Waiting for a sale would be the same result but with the possibility of being spoiled on it or losing interest. I never played the original Dead Space games.
I understand but like I said, I rarely lose money on games. At worst, I break even and for games I complete, half price for a game im playing day one is good by me.
If regulation is honest then it shouldn’t just restrict possible concentration but actually regulate what’s already concentrated and monopolized across much more crucial industries. If that happens, then it would be fair to restrict huge merger expansion like this MS-ABK one. I don’t disagree with Bernie, I just think MS/ABK and most big tech is just not supposed to be priority at all because that is luxury stuff. If something like this gets blocked, then might as well reconfigure the whole economic system that entails something like this meger is just the system working as intended, instead of cherry picking stuff that won’t actually change things for the better systemically and will just give them wins that don’t actually solve anything.
Big tech seems just like the biggest that they could challenge. There’s other industries they for some reason don’t seem to regulate much, and they are more important industries to the public like the health, food, and energy industries.

Not gonna go into all this political stuff… but the FTC choosing and blocking deals just to stall them knowing they can’t win in court, cause they having taking like 6 L’s in a row in court lol
So with Bernie and Warren both wanting deals to failed while parsing the FTC is laughable.

That good, you do you… but for me i don’t have that kind of money to burn that why i mostly wait for games to be on gamepass. That why i fucking hate Sony and FTC and CMA for holding up this deal that would save me a ton of money in the long run…

In fairness though, you wouldn’t be getting COD until 2024 at the earliest due to the marketing deal ABK has with Sony for MW 2. Granted, you’ll have to wait a while longer for the old COD games and other old games but you’ll get them eventually if the deal goes through. Short term, the only game is Diablo IV and to be honest, since it’s a live service game that will last years if not a decade, better to own it since you’ll have to buy seasons or expansions, etc. if you want to keep playing.
Sony has been petty and pathetic but sadly, the bullshit they’ve been spouting is working. A bigger concern is that the regulators don’t seem to care about the 10k workers at ABK because in no way, shape or form is staying under Kotick better than being under Microsoft.
But I don’t want to go off-topic as I can already see Brit with a green post incoming. lol hehe
I don’t really care for COD though… it Diablo 4 that i want the most, it listed at 70 on the xbox store now and that the lowest price edition, plus all the other ABK games.
I’ll most likely buy the $100 ultimate edition for the game because im all in. All the previews praise the game with the only concern being if Blizzard fucks it up with monetization.

I earn under $15k a year but my expenses are very low. Hehe. Plus I have had $800 in Game Stop credit due to trading in the Switch, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X back in 2019 and 2020. I still have like $400 left over. So I do have an extra advantage. But it will run out eventually. lol
