It gets called one of the best console JRPGs of 7th gen (though that bar wasn’t high lol). The best and most memorable part of the game is these short stories you find about the protagonist’s past, extremely well written, they will definitely stick with you. The main story is a more standard JRPG fare but is decent enough.

For gameplay, it’s classic albeit maybe outdated by now turn based combat. Nothing too complicated or anything. It’s presented very well though, and you get this “ring QTE” for attacks to make it more engaging.

The main characters are pretty much all adults (IIRC, the two that aren’t are the protag’s grandkids?) and don’t act too outrageous or anything like that so don’t worry about it being “anime” lol

I think it took me about 45 hours to beat the game and do most side content (collecting all short stories, fighting all optional bosses), so it’s maybe 35 hours to just do the main story.

FF7R style remake for this game would be impressive (but of course remake that follows the original story).

I saw that (I guess fake?) Game Awards lineup leak yesterday that had Turok on it and now I really want a new one . Make it in the same vain as the OG games and it could be truly special.

This please. Turn based is done for me but give me real time combat with the “slow down/pause” option like FF7R and yeah, im most likely all in!!!
