Maybe Herman Hulst can lend a hand, and together they might figure out how to not put the console upside down.

Curious to see how well it will do in Japan, especially where the selection of games are vast.

Crazy how they still don’t ship to Australia…

Ya know, I really am enjoying my Series S. It’s a great console (and an amazing value buy). Buuuuut, I really wish there was an external disc drive I could plug into it. When there are certain games that NEED the disc to play (Mortal Kombat 2011 for example) you kind of want the ability to play them. Heck, I would gladly pay up to $75 for one.

I had an X2400h from a while ago with a 5.1.2 setup. I was holding back on upgrading the TV and AVR till the feature set all matched up for my series X, PS5 and PC. I want to upgrade to a 7.2.4 setup next year when I buy a bigger place so will need an external amp for two of the speakers but that should be pretty easy

looks credible. i made the same face when i got my VHS One.

Still cant shake the feeling that games take forever to make. I guess most of devs Microsoft acquired were just starting projects.

The fact that you invite me to look forward to the next 6 months is… Yeah, not comforting. This second half of the year keeps being awful and we are still in it.

You should be able to power those extra speakers with your x2400h and don’t actually need the amp. When I got my x3700h, I repurposed my old Onkyo receiver to do exactly that.

Now, I can’t blame you if you’ve been lusting after an Emotiva for a while and want to just pull the trigger on one. :slightly_smiling_face: Just thought I’d let you know in case you didn’t.

Weirdos in the comments still calling him a liar, lol.

Most of the devs Microsoft has acquired were finishing other multiplatform games.

That’s actually the thing - due to Microsoft not partnering with enough studios or making marketing deals, they quite often acquire developers that have contractual obligations to release multiplatform games. It is not like with Sony where “you moneyhat the studio long enough that it becomes an organic growth”.

It’s well known that AAA games often take 4-6 years to create.

If you are comparing Xbox’s output to PS it will likely still be quite low for another year or two. PS started acquiring back in 1993 starting with Europe’s then biggest game publisher Psygnosis. Xbox in comparison didn’t start the bulk of their acquisitions until 2018, buying their first publisher (Zenimax) in 2020.

Everyone seems to forget how many of PS game studios were acquired and not ‘organically grown’.

I can pick up Colin Moriarty arguments and claim that is not natural for Sony to have Zenimax exclusives, the company went big on consoles and mainstream thanks to Xbox, before that they were publishing some mediocre games on PS1 and 2. The marketing rights became Xbox only with Morrowind and beyond, I wonder why they flipped back in 2020.

We’re almost there, I mean it’s basically December. Take comfort in playing other games (I am like inundated with Game Pass releases) and stop worrying about it so much, the games are around the corner. Hopefully we get dates soon so it’ll make things more concrete in people’s minds.

New game for Mega Drive? Why?

Because Yuzo Koshiro is old school and the Sega Genesis was and still is an awesome console for this type of game. So I can’t wait to play it.
