XboxEra Community Hangout |OT9| Waiting for Developer_E3

Ninja Gaiden gotta be so hard to get right with today’s standards and expectations, it will probably veer into being either a soulslike or a DmC/Bayonetta H&S.

But I wonder why Team Ninja don’t want to make it themselves because they could be the only ones to do it justice…

Yeah it’s unlikely that they will fund the game because they haven’t done that for a long time but you never know, Phil and Sarah looked really active at the TGS.

Either way I am happy if this turns out true (even if it is a Nintendo exclusive), the more character action games the better. It may feel weird not having a new NG on Xbox but what can you do? the whole genre is not that popular anymore and I am assuming that the studios are trying to make those games as less risky as they can (with getting deals e.t.c.). :man_shrugging:

Probably because they are too busy with two other games? You can stretch yourself only so much…

Now, considering that So Long is coming the next year, I wonder what game that team is gonna make…

Apparently, there is a Banjo game in development.

I doubt Toys for Bob would be the ones making it, in the middle of the process of being acquired.

Who do you guys think could be making it?

Uhh…today’s Team Ninja? I am not sure about that. Also NG is in the same genre as DMC and Bayo, it just focuses less on stylish combos and more on survival.

I am still secretly hoping to see TW101 shadow drop in a Game Pass announcement, still hurts that this game is not available on Xbox. :frowning:

Not much value was lost though.

Maybe I am misremembering but I think that Sumo Digital was supposed to be a candidate.

A great game is always adding value to the library of a system even if it won’t set the charts on fire, at least that’s my opinion as I care more about having good games available on Xbox and less about sales.

It’s possible Xbox reached out to a third party such as Toys4Bob to develop it (e.g Crystal Dynamics) before the ABK deal was even announced.

I suspect it’s someone like Playtonic (if they have forgiven Xbox).

I am not sure if Playtonic is in position to forgive Xbox though

The approach to playing NG and its design is completely different from DMC an Bayo, even if both are in the character action hack n slash genre.

I don’t think we will get NG that plays like the old ones anyway.

I dont see Activision loaning out what they coulf haver used as part of thr COD farm.

Yeah, they said reboot so… Who knows

I’m gonna be delusional and say it’s Toys for Bob, idc

Yes that’s what I said, different but same genre. I have faith (if the rumor turns out true) that Platinum will realize that the essence of NG is quite different than the other character action games and adapt to that play style. Also I am surprised that you played NG since you seem to not be a fan of hard games.

Playtonic could be a good choice too, Impossible Lair was a great game.

I think I am lost on why Playtonic should forgive Xbox…

Yeah me too, I don’t know the backstory about this one.

FWIW, I remember this as well.

It is interesting that all those third party studios like Sumo or Iron Galaxy are able to produce so diverse set of games, while a lot of well known studios stick to the same genre and game types.

I am not a fan of hard games now, because I ain’t got no damn capacity for trial and error and grinding and frustration anymore lol, especially not with the amount of games I have to play

When I had one game a month to play, AT BEST, sure I did fine with them, I beat NGB and Dark Souls and even used to do og GoW on hard (it was hell but I had no other games :sob:).
