I believe it should be multiple things at once: Significant new PvP content + communicable cadence, BR mode or whatever it ends up being called, Forge, and hell maybe even announce a story DLC. Do all this in a long Halo: State of Infinite stream, and all of it to start dropping that week and continues on a planned and clear roadmap.

Microsoft sure does talk a lot about a universal store idea, could that have implications like buying their games once, getting it on Xbox/Windows/Steam/EGS/Battlenet/xCloud, etc. That would be rad af

My question is what will they do with battlenet? Dispose of it I guess? Not soon after the acquisition closes but a slow transition from battlenet to the MS store and Steam.
I believe not. Itâs a big storefront and platform. Disrupting that ecosystem would suck wildly, and it has its unique value and qualities that it doesnât mean those players will want to migrate to Steam/MS Iâm the first place. Just some integration (for saves and Game Pass etc) for sure, but disposal? Really donât see that.
Ms shouldnt put any of their games on EGS.

Nah. I think theyll keep steam but improve windows store and with cloud becoming more prevelant they dont need other store fronts
Not ones that are cash grabs like epic. Unless epic pay ms huge money to keep their games off steam but pointless when its on gamepass.

MS eventually want to be seen as the good guy platform and content holder thatâs open to selling on and supporting other competing storefronts. Eventually that stuff gives them better regulatory treatment.

I wouldnât take his word as gospel, Iâve heard heâs pretty difficult to work with. It doesnât even seem like it was Square that wanted him removed specifically, a bunch of his senior staff members banded together to push for his removal from the project. Theyâve not given their side specifically so we donât know what exactly happened on Balan but when even Yuji Nakaâs version of events is âseveral of my companies staff banded together to have me removedâ it doesnât exactly look good on his part. Also given how awful the game was at Iâm not really sure there was any saving it even if he had stayed.
