Yeah, the Johanas project is most likely a big project. About the smaller games bit iirc Mikami said that he wants to train the new members of Tango with smaller projects/teams before going bigger.
Still hurts that the Johanas project isn’t TEW3 but since this is the opposite of horror…hopefully this will be a crazy, balls to the wall, character action game! we definitely need more of those! 
“The Evil Within” started as a project called “Noah,” although the game that resulted evolved into something completely different. But if Mikami had the chance to make the original concept of “Noah,” he says, maybe he would.
“My thinking is that if I had a chance to make a game from the beginning to end that’s completely my vision, then definitely, that would be my big last project as a director,” he says. “It would probably be more fitting as that ‘last game I direct’ kind of thing.”

The concept of Noah is very intriguing. Hope he does get it made, though it seems he’d consider it only if he’s allowed full control, Kojima treatment.

Tango have some pretty wild game concepts.
They had a game concept with guns blazing cockroaches, and another where you or with a co-op partner control two chained man and woman vampire hunters simultaneously, it eventually evolved into The Evil Within apparently lol.
It seems Shinji Mikami now wants to teach other people and let them gain experience, rather than doing the game himself
Looking at how high The Day Before in steam wishlists, State of Decay 3 can be a big hit as they are similar
