I’m very interested in comparing the graphics of the Callisto protocol and the dead space remake. Ones cross gen and the other isn’t. Both games have similar styles and scope. Not a one to one comparison because of different engines.
But I’m so ready for publishers to move on from the old consoles. Very interested to see if dead space can show why games need to stop being cross gen.
It launched at $50. This is odd. Switch tax maybe? Really not a fan of raised prices, but to defend a smidge here, Switch did not have modding capabilities before so this was probably a bitch to port. But then it makes you wonder why they even bothered… especially with ES6 going exclusive. Make a quick buck? Save face with regulators? Sunk costs?
Kind of have to blame nintendo as much as bethesda tbh. Theyre extortionate royalties makes it very difficult for companies to charge less for their games.
A lot of Google workers also hate Microsoft. So I guess some of them will just switch to other department.
Some of them might leave for other companies indeed though. Just like it happened with those game devs.
Not surprising, but I would of thought if game streaming was a project they really wanted to succeed going with the company providing both the tech and the content would be a smart choice. I guess Nvidia or Amazon will be getting some new people soon.
I believe hat even the reason why they went with Linux for Stadia is because they did not want to use Windows (out of spite). It also reminds me about this story with Android emulation on Windows and Youtube app for Windows Phone.
Yup, on Jez’s new article on Xcloud/Stadia he links to Daniel Rubio’s article of when Microsoft was forced by Google to turn the app they made using Google api into a web version as part of a deal to get ofgicial support. Which never happen because they wanted Microsoft to code an html5 app as part of the requirement.
