Making a game for two console skus and a handheld would be hell for devs. Although I could see it working if it’s just a Windows 11 PC in a handheld form factor.

How much do you think sony paid SE for this? Clearly this was a paid exclusive. Its more hilarious that it was console exclusive. Serves them right.

Sony paid for 6 months of exclusivity. I don’t know what that amount would be but clearly it was a complete waste of money for Sony lol.

Hey guys. I had a family member pass away today. Kid was 28 entering his last year of dental school. Died suddenly for no reason. If you have family members you maybe don’t talk to or dont talk to them enough please reach out and tell them you love them because they may not be there tommorow.

They were always likely to suffer in the cloud gaming space. The costs of trying to run it themselves and create data centers where they need to is just too big a barrier. They’re forced to partner with AWS, Azure(who they did) or Google cloud and even there the costs would be high especially as they are using custom hardware for it. Sony will be hoping that game streaming isn’t the future or very big because it’s an area they really can’t compete in
Netflix and Disney, biggest streamers, don’t own any data centers.
Very different usage case and even then they cut pretty hefty checks for the use(just look at the charges twitch quoted for AWS use). On video streaming its mostly about storage and then streaming the video, on gaming your talking about hosting the actual specialized hardware(iirc they use PS3 hardware for their ps3 cloud gaming), storage of the games and as responsive as possible up and down usage.
I get it, but still they can figure it out. Maybe like Nvidia however they do it.
