I always thought there is a chance Disney might force Sony to release Spiderman on xbox if xbox gets a good chunk of the market share . But then Disney gave Wolverine to Sony so goodbye that thought .
Xbox will definitely increase the price of exclusivity for Sony⌠And there may come a tipping point⌠It will be a sight to behold
ABK deal most likely made most publishers perk up, they sure as shit know this gen and in the future, itâs probably best to not ignore Xbox. This is probably another big reason Sony is worried because they know publishers will second guess marketing deals.
Yeah, ABK deal certainly changed the landscape. 70b thrown into gaming market. It is 30% of the whole gaming market.
The spider man Sony deal is surely going to get expansive for Sony
Sony doesnât have an exclusivity money hat deal with Disney. Sony made game, utilizing licensing from Disney, itâs first party and they choose where to publish it, terms of the deal can vary but it doesnât appear like Disney care about exclusivity as much as they get a great licensing deal out of it. Think of it like the cars on Forza or GT.
Licensing deal gonna get costly for Sony⌠Disney knows how much demand there is for its IPâs games.
Microsoft and other publishers are free to acquire Disney licences. They donât have an exclusive deal with Sony, anyone whoâs willing to pitch and pay can get a Disney IP license.
Licensed games donât sell.
It doesnât matter how well Xbox does
Sony has leverage over Spiderman with the movie stuff and that isnât changing anytime soon
Not a concrete one yet. They had a release month trailer a whole ago where they said âberâ at the end, so anything from September to December. And according to this new video it seems something new is coming soon.
Hopefully all the new stuff are multiplatform projects. They probably are. The EA ones, the one by Amy Hennig and whatever else that is coming. Just not Spidey and Wolverine.
This is what I am exactly trying to say⌠Donât know what is the disconnect heređ¤
Ah man, another one of my 2022 games delayed within a week, after Hogwarts Legacy. Soul Hackers 2 should keep me busy though so itâs no biggie, plus itâll result in a better experience. 2023 is going to be unbelievably stacked for me with the way things are going.
Leverage for sure can make things easier but itâs not gonna make Sony dictate what Disney do or do not do. Disney were willing to let go of Spider-Man in MCU when they didnât like an initial Sony deal.
Wasnât it the other way around? Sony werenât getting what they wanted and told Disney to take a hike until they gave in?
Everyone is making a licenced game or more because they are the most safe bets specifically for AAA single-player games now. This generation looks like itâs gonna be full of them.
Two point campus, power wash sim, cult of the lamb, saints row and cod mw2 are/will save my 2022
I has backlog until Starfield.
PowerWash Simulator is unironically one of my favorites this year. Pretty interested in trying Two Point Campus out too, Iâll probably do so soon. Besides Soul Hackers 2, Iâve still got Sonic Frontiers, Pentiment, and Persona 5 Royal to look forward to this year. Those three should still hit this year. Might end up playing High On Life too.
Still my GOTY. Incredible game.
