There was never a concept or plan, they made shit up as they went, it’s always been a shitshow. Even from the game’s side they kept cancelling projects.
I heard Batgirl was practically ready, only to never show up because of cancellation. Essentially, WB pulled a Ubisoft recent move. Working on Ghost Recon Frontline and announced on their anniversary, only to cancel it.
I think several items (series and movies) were almost completed but they decided to drop them. Discovery really does not want to make DC series for some reason.
Not releasing a finished film on any platform is unheard of in the industry, they did the same with Scoob! as well.
That’s what happens when you instigate over $3B in cost savings.

Seems to fit with Discovery’s main objective, profits. Its why they pushed so hard into unscripted series. Less expensive to make while able to demand higher priced subscription service. They see Discovery content as their prestige and why they are focusing on that platform, Discovery+, instead of HBOMax going forward.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see them being worse for Warner Brothers and HBO than AT&T management was. Sure the new company WBD may be more profitable and thus successful, but the impact on WB will be so drastic that we won’t recognize it.

As far as I understand from the Variety and THR articles, Zaslav has a plan. His plan is to release only those projects that are 90% successful.
I’m very interested in what he will do with the gaming division. Of all future projects, only Hogwarts Legacy looks so obviously successful.
Wow, UE5 only out for a few months and this is what we getting from Indie devs. I can’t wait to see what Avowed and Witcher look like
