Please… do not start getting people to conflate science with scientology… the latter of which isn’t based in any sense of fact/reality :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The dynamic of the friends is nicely done, like a road trip, but only in Japanese because the English voices are…yeah. Some really cool monsters in there though and the combat can be fun, even if it’s basically just holding B and have the character attack automatically. Beautiful music too.

It’s unfortunate they didn’t unlock the framerate in resolution mode because after seeing it in 4K it’s a bit hard to go back to 1080p or whatever it is, but it’s clearly not as crisp. The 60fps is great though. It’s been years since I played it last and never finished it. Last part I remember is the city that looked like Venice to me. How close to the end is that?

I also remember the story not being all that interesting and yeah, overall boring world.

Found these at the local pawn shop. Went in looking for Dynasty Warriors Gundam and walked out with different mech games instead lmao.

Yeah, I’m playing in fidelity mode, but 60 FPS is really great, it’s just too blurry sadly, so I just settled on the higher res. But I’m dreaming of that 4K60 mode for sure.

Environments are gorgeous. The valley with the large creatures roaming around in the distance, the small cuban city (called Lestallum), the volcano, ect. They really nailed that road trip feeling, so that’s what I enjoyed the most this time around, but getting around in the car gets annoying real fast. And the side quests…there’s just too many random fetch quests…

Now I’m close to the end, when you get back from Tenebrae, the evil city, and that’s where the story is falling from a cliff imo.

It’s so hard to get a sense of what’s going on and things just twists and turns without proper explanations.

Anyway, I’ve never finished it so I really want to see the end this time. I don’t know what to expect of the DLC, maybe it will explain some stuff. I even bought the Ardyn episode which is supposed to explain the villain backstory, so I’ll try that also.

Edit : Altissia (Venice city) is like 3/4 of the game I think. After that it’s just get linear until you reach the end part where you can get back and finish quests.

I don’t have an idea what “2004 style mmo side content” is because I have never played an MMO but are you saying that western open world games don’t have repetitive content/side activities and those 3 have? because that’s the first time I’m seeing someone saying this if that is what you’re implying and from what I’ve played I don’t see how the Japanese games have this problem while the Western games don’t.

Open world games in general seem to have this design “flaw” if you wanna call it that which is understandable considering that the devs have to fill those maps with activities otherwise they are called empty and uninteresting.

Xbox with 2 weeks in arow of over 6k sales in Japan. At that pace theyd easily smash the OG Xbox sales within a year and a half and be on a pace to catch or beat the Xbox 360 sales.
