I am guessing this is a sequel. Just saying I’m suprised it costs that much unless it’s much different than what I’m playing now lol
I’m pretty sure the original was $60 on launch too. Definitely steep for a visual novel.
The sequel is not. Maybe down the line but not on launch.
Ooooh, I read that as if the game was coming to GP too. Got ya!
That’s not unusual really. The audience for these games and other similar stuff like Visual Novels and budget JRPGs are pretty small so the devs rely on cult fanbases of the genres who will pay full price for these games. I mean I paid full price for Danganronpa V3 when it was new lol
RE: Filling the Game Pass gaps.
Fwiw, here are the AAA(ish) multiplat third parties without Sony/Nintendo marketing or a GP release, that are scheduled for 2022 (not including F2P games)

-
Gotham Knights
-
Soul Hackers 2
-
Skull & Bones (presumably, may be January-March)
-
Sonic Frontiers
-
Marvel’s Midnight Suns
-
CoD: MW 2 (maybe not Sony marketing? idk)
-
Dark Pictures Anthology
-
Diofeld Chronicles
-
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed
-
Jackbox 9
-
Lord of the Rings Gollum
-
No More Heroes 3
-
Return to Monkey Island
-
Six Days in Fallujah
-
Star Trek Resurgence
-
TMNT Shredder’s Revenge
Granted, this does not include yet to be announced games. The biggest difficulty for MS is filling the Starfield gap. Redfall can be filled easily. Lotta co-op games coming. Something for single player fans is a lot more difficult though, especially with this lineup. The few that are SP have significantly more limited/niche appeal than Starfield, and Avatar or Hogwarts woulda been perfect.
There are also games from earlier in the year. Just for the record though, I’m not sure I’m team Elden Ring like many others. That game sold too well to make a big impact IMO. Most who want to play it, have and then some. FOMO’s a hell of a drug.
True, didn’t think about that.
Although SoT, FF and GI are all on PC too (so multi-platform), it may be the case they just release their games on PS & PC.
You’re greatly underestimating Avatar. As long as the game is good, it’s going to be huge. And I don’t mean like a 90+. If it’s just high 70’s, it’s going to do very well. Movie will be even bigger.
I don’t doubt they are gonna release their GaaS games Day 1 on PC.
If the game is below 80 then it might as well be 20
I’m certainly not buying a game under 80 in this economy lol.
People didn’t have access to reviews, they bought games on blind faith, for good or bad.
Good old days where sub 20 fps was playable for most of the people
It also doesn’t help that there’s just so many games to play nowadays and gamepass isnt making it any easier
True. With so many games people prefer to play “best of the best”.
Yep
Although having said that, a lot of people will try out a game that might be lower rated purely because it’s a part of gamepass, “if it’s in the sub, might as well get my moneys worth” type of thing
Dying light 2 sold 5 million copies with a 76 meta critic score, and that’s just one game off the top of my head. So the trend y’all notice isn’t exactly scientific, just game forum non sense
