Nice. Several YouTubers were live streaming a side quest from Dying Light 2 and February 2nd being the review embargo definitely seems like they’re very confident which they should be. I’m expecting at least an 85 on Open Critic. Watching two YouTubers with the side quests, the writing is solid, the outcomes were “damn”, the parkour looks fluid as hell and the combat looks like the best ever in a first person game and best since Dishonored 2. The world and audio also look and sound excellent. Not only that but just watching one YouTuber (Hollow) play a side quest, even I was getting tense just watching it.
Two weeks to freaking go!!! If only I could advance time. lol
November/December is going to be packed. Starfield, Avatar, Stalker 2, Jedi Fallen Order 2 and possibly GOWR/TLOU Remake and BOTW 2. Q4 2022 could end up being the most packed Q4 in history.
Design is largely true to source so that’s nice though I’m sure some will still find issues, which is understandable given this is a God that is actually still worshipped on a large scale to this day and have a million different interpretations of what he is and isn’t to different communities within the same religion.
I had played this game a ton at one point but stopped cuz of how toxic it can be. There was at least one time from what I remember where a character was redone because there’s people that still respect and wirsgip these gods in the Hindu community, and it was when Kali was added. They had redone how she looks but I don’t think they like Hindu gods being in the game at all. There aren’t very many of them in the game compared to the other pantheons that were added at the same time as it, so I think Hi-Rez are being extra careful that they do these gods right in the game.
As far as characters in the game though I think is actually really cool. There’s King Arthur as seen in this trailer, and there’s also Hua Mulan (An old tale the Disney character was based off of), and even the Lovecraft diety Cthulhu.
oh for sure lol, hinduism right now especially in popular discourse and general cultural zeitgeist has gone even more paranoid about itself, at least that’s what’s in the news all the time here. Over the recent years there’s been a prosecution complex accelerated by political opportunism by certain powers which just makes even local creative licensing of said religion have some wild, extreme outrage. There’s a reason why there isn’t as much Indian mythology representation globally because in one way, people doing the representation are generally those in the west with no actual ground knowledge and scholarship in the subject, but in other ways the overbearing nature and protectiveness of how it should be represented by outspoken voices here becomes too risky. Unlike other monotheistic religions, there are like soooo many communities and denominations within Hinduism that have exponentially wider scope of interpretation compared to just denominations of something like Christianity or Islam, that it just makes creators be even more weary because there isn’t a narrow pool of caution to observe and mold from, so they just don’t even bother. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is. Growing up, all my dreams were about how epic and grand a AAA cinematic action adventure Mahabharata or Ramayana could be, but damn, over the years I realized that’s just not happening anytime soon.
Yeah it’s messed up what is happening India with the right wing Hindu nationalists fanning the flames of the belief that Hindus, who make up over 80% of India, are somehow being persecuted by other religious minorities or on behalf of them.
It’s the same thing Republicans are doing in the US with white America.
I am sure they have got it approved from the watchdogs (read fringe groups) because it’s not the first time this is happening.
Yes but sadly these western tech giants don’t follow the same regulatory policies in their social media platforms for other countries thereby growing extremism.
Has there been anything more disappointing that Dolby Vision on the xbox lately? Absolute dud of a feature right now and I think @Staffy can agree lol.
I been using the PS5 lately and the store and overall dashboard is so much more colorful than the Series X that I just want HDR to be on lol. Its really neat browsing the sales and all the game titles just popping.
When I first tried it out last year with Destroy all Humans, Psychonauts 2 and more I initially thought there was a big difference. Not only in terms of things looking more vibrant but also more crisp. Back then I should have just directly compared it to HDR10 again, because I recently did and I didn’t see a difference at all. In fact in some games HDr10 is preferable.
Halo Infinite was supposed to be the first game to truly use it…well…
