XboxEra Community Hangout |OT6| New Year, Same Three Topics

They’re presented information (very trivial information in fact) that makes something appear to be a certain way, why would they question it. I think folks on gaming forums over estimate just how important gaming is to the average person that plays games.

People thought it was Xbox exclusive?

I don’t know what this means tbh, but in any case I think we overestimate how important what people say online is. Especially what gamers™ say. It’s simply not that indicative of the real world if at all :person_shrugging:

You’ll be surprised because I remember when Destiny first released many thought you needed a PS4 to play it. I remember whenever i went to a game store there was always somebody asking for a PS4 to get it

I mean it happened with Scarlet Nexus to some extent. Hell, Bandai even uploading the announcement trailer and it only showed Xbox platforms. I believe its more about marketing then market position.

With little to no marketing no less, at least compare to SoP.

Wonder how much Babylon’s Fall sold

It had good Nintendo Direct presence which has proven time and time again to be a very good boost for Switch game sales. It was on multiple directs, at least one of which was a couple minutes long overview trailer, and then it had an early “give us feedback” demo and then a “final demo” that carries over save progress. All of this is marketing that is very successful on Switch.

If it’s not already there, this is probably the best selling SRPG that isn’t Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics.

Considering the budget of Triangle Strategy I would say that it healed Babylon’s Failure. I wonder if that game even hit 10k?

Is it really still down? Also, yeah, the tweet really aged badly.

This has nothing to do with disc or digital. Either way you own GT7, you can’t play it right now. The reason is Polyphonys insane game design. Thats their issue. Tom Warren should not generalize this to other more competent devs.

Only for the payers and waiters, my dude

The real problem as well is no communication from GT devs. At least Halo support notify as soon as possible if there’s something wrong with a playlist or slow loading. Here, supposedly they got nothing.

you have to be connected. Many “single player” Xbox games do this.

No they don’t

Sony mocked Microsoft, but they’re both doing it now

Microsoft is not “doing it”; all their games are playable offline except SoT which is multiplayer only anyway.

I think he’s just frustrated. His recent tweets are bunch of GT7 not working. Imagine, paying $60 or $70 for a game that goes offline with no way to play and no update from devs. Even mobile game will let you know something is wrong.

It’s a ridiculous system and I hate that people didn’t complain about it enough, especially those journos, when it was announced.

Always online should only be for multiplayer modes.
