Matty says the multiplayer got canned for Cyberpunk. First time I’m hearing this.
Apparently CDPR is making two AAA projects now. Marty speculates that this could be a shrewd move on their behalf to make them a more attractive purchase.

Betting money is either on Sony or Netflix picking up CDPR.
Sony seems like the safest bet because it seems like a move Sony would do to have a big “AAA” WRPG developer under their belt, one that is very closely tied to Microsoft.
However, I think Sony kicking them off PSN after Cyberpunk makes it dicey unless these talks started after Cyberpunk to mend the relationship.
Netflix is serious about gaming, and with Witcher being huge on Netflix, having the developers of the Witcher as their flagship dev for both game and tv content could be a wild card here.
Watch it being OUYA
The what now?
Netlix just lost a bazillion dollars, nah.
Got to spend money to make money!
I doubt it would be Tencent since CDPR games tend to be very anti-authoriarian and I don’t see the games messages responding well in China.
Embracer couldn’t afford them just with GoG itself.
They’re currently valued more than Bungie’s market cap and likely sell for close to 8 million or more in today’s market. Huge risk for Sony and they probably don’t have the means to get that deal done.
Maybe.
Also very possible that CDPR just doesn’t sell and tries to rebound and regain it’s status symbol as the “top-level” RPG maker after CP2077.
I think Cyberpunk did a number on their reputation. As well as all the behind-the-scenes reporting as well.
So Ghostwire will cost $59.99 and it’s next-gen only. Does this show sign that Xbox games will stay $59.99?
If Xbox games eventually go to $70 it’ll be because it become the market standard and expectation. People would stupidly associate “cheaper” with less quality or value, and corporate will ask questions of why they’re not following the market on that extra $10. Or they continue to sell $60 to make Game Pass more appealing, and Xbox more value friendly even for game ownership. I think it’ll be a hard decision.
Cmon man, I know Cyberpunk hit them hard but I think they’d cost more than 8 million /s
Talked about this yesterday but yeah, even after Cyberpunk, they’d be a very expensive buy and I dont think MS is interested in paying that much for a game every 5 years, Sony might be more likely purely to have something in the WRPG market but thats a hell of a lot of money so I cant see them pull the trigger either
I’d rather have it be Xbox that acquires CDPR if they are looking to be purchased.
I mean sure, Cyberpunk took them a long time and it didn’t exactly launch in a great way, but Witcher 3 launched pretty ok with a few issues here and there but it was very, very Playable. And it also didn’t take them a insane amount of years to make it, iirc. I’d be a great fit to complete Xbox as THE place for RPGs of all kinds.
You think they’d be worth atleast a billion eh?
Wouldn’t $70 make Game Pass even more appealing though?
“Pay $70 or pay $10 for GP”
This what anyone who isn’t a glutton for punishment or addicted to drama did.
