On a serious note , it’s kind of interesting that Sony is still basically using its PS1 strategy of money hatting everything to keep it off of other consoles . I naively thought at one point that Xbox having the backing of a bigger corp, and not being hamstrung like Sega was during the Saturn days could prevent this kind of thing but nope. Same shit new gen.
It’s also funny that after all the vitriol thrown at xbox from the gaming media for moneyhatting Tomb Raider, will be quiet as Sony snatches up anything and everything they can get their hands on.

it worked for them, even at some point worked for MS.
they are market leader unless Nintendo starts getting serious about it’s hardware power that can run 3P Content very well.

I actually liked the second one better too. Only because the gameplay loop was far better than the “pull out crate, help morality pet onto crate” stuff in the original. Plus the story and characters didn’t do much for me. It was a decent game at best.
Story wise the second game was nothing to write home about and had plotholes big enough to drive a truck through, but it could at least fall back on gameplay.

yeah the gameplay improved big time i give them that, the team work very hard on this and animation. there is a lot of good talented devs in that area (California). that is why i want MS to open another studio or expend The Initiative to work on multiple games on same time

Its the better part of the campaign and could stand on it’s own. In fact I think they started the game as a standalone abby story and later decided to also do Ellie. I found the first half with Ellie very long, exhausting and boring and almost quit. But Abbys campaign was very good and more of what I had hoped for in the game.

I can’t even guess how many players it’s gonna have by the end of its lifecycle. It’s probably doing better than even Playground predicted.
