Asking this for my brother who also has an XSX.
He has a very bad issue where not only a beta but also a full normal game totally crashes his system , total shutdown. He had it with the CoD and BF betas , I did too but not with regular games. He also has it with Avengers.
Basically the console turns itself off, he hears the beep that you hear if you power it off manually. Has anyone has similar issue or should he really return it? One year warranty left.
I don’t have much insight into this, but let’s get the obvious stuff out of the way: Is he on any insider stuff? Has he tried a full reboot? Does the console have adequate room for venting? Are these games installed on the internal drive?
He’s not an insider, or well, he definitely doesn’t think so, lol. If he goes to the insider hub app he should be able to see if he is, right? Tried full reboots etc, yep, it’s directly under his TV and it’s in a full open space. Games are installed on internal SSD, yes.
Hmm, how about a hard reset, as described here?
Possible corruption on the nvme, did he try deleting the game (uninstall) and redownloading entirely?
If that doesn’t resolve his issue, he’ll probably have to open up an issue with Microsoft and see what they suggest, which should be an RMA process.
I had an issue on an external SSD where some games would not load, update, or move/copy elsewhere. It’s very odd cause the system and the SSD are on Battery Backup UPS so shouldn’t have been from power glitches. I eventually formatted the entire external drive to wipe out everything then began redownloading the games. Around 2.7 TBs and a day later I was good to go again.

Turns out he was insider after all. This is what his Insider Hub said

That’s different, for the halo insider program. There’s also other special insider stuff like Minecraft or FlightSim etc. But that Manage Device screen shows if the console is getting insider dashboard builds. Should be another section that displays what Insider Ring it’s in.
Also, might want to edit the photo to mask out the Serial Numbers.
Yeah the odd thing is that it does say “you have not joined any currently available previews.” At the previews section. He showed me a photo of that too.
He also didn’t have Dolby Vision for months now, so I wonder if his XSX truly was in this program. I hope it was because otherwise I expect he’ll text me soon that the issue persists.

Week 10 is after the awards show
Well, licensed games sell. It is kinda funny how Sony is becoming Disney of consoles (with all those IPs they are getting from movies and so on like Star Wars, Marvel, Spider Man etc.), while MS is becoming Netflix (all in-house IPs, creates its own and so on).
If Sony decides to take subscription service seriously they can be very successful due to the ties in movie industry (more leverage to prevent the content from being pulled off the platform or appearing in other places).

As much as I hate Valhalla and Odyssey’s gameplay structure damn can Ubisoft craft open worlds like no other lol. Like Ancient Greece is absolutely insane.

Damn, the issue persists for my brother. Avengers completely shut down his XSX again. It wasn’t the insider thing, because he removed that.
He’s thinking of doing a factory reset, should he remoge everything, including the My home Xbox thing for game sharing or is that unimportant?
This is why I push for the idea that Xbox should consider their own licensed game out side of Indiana Jones

Do the factory reset and try if it crashes. No need to wipe Home Xbox thing. If it does then fully delete Avengers and re-download.
If that still doesn’t help, need to start support ticket that may eventually lead to RMA process.
