Curious as to what Prominent Japanese Developer is working on Silent Hill.

Paying for ports is not really sustainable long term (ask anyone who was #TeamWindowsPhone). It probably makes sense to do it for a while and see if a market establishes itself (like with Yakuza).

If you’re in the position where you gotta pay for ports, you really should be going for less of a shotgun approach though. Not only is paying for everything a waste of money, showing an extremely poor market for more niche titles just re-enforces their lack of desire to port the games.

Anyone got the FF demo working? Like being able to get past the language screen? Lol.

This demo is gonna need a patch, ridiculous.

The difference with the past is that now they have GP, Yakuza would have waned in a different Xbox, maybe even at the height of 360.

Completely agree. Though I think GP puts a bit more difficulty on day one. Though I guess they could get them to release day one with a deferred GP release.

I believe this is the way. A 3-6 months delayed release for GP should hit the spot.

You think Sony is keeping titles like Trials of Mana off Xbox along with FF mainline titles? I have no doubt Phil would like to see all these games come to Xbox too.

No, these are all on SE, we’ll see them 2-3 years after the fact or never after a hefty MS check lol.

This looks real good. More interested in this game than I am their other game Hundred Heroes.

I hope not. Would easily prefer a remake of MGS or MGS 3.

hmm it’s the other way around for me haha, cuz I’ve played enough of these sidescrolling metroidvania games. But a proper Suikoden spiritual successor in a gorgeous art style is something I’m personally more hyped for.

Wait…metroidvania with backtracking and whatnot? I thought it was a straightforward 2D game like Super Castlevania IV for example. Is it being metroidvania confirmed?

Hmm I just looked up a bunch of details regarding it and yeah it’s not a metroidvania, they say it’s a town-building action RPG. Don’t know how the town building stuff works but I suspect it’s gonna be like Ori WotW but in more detail.

Oh, okay. That sounds better to me. Thanks. 2022 is going to be stacked and packed from beginning to end. :joy:

yeah, this is what the Epic store description says. I’m a bit more excited now too hearing its not a metroidvania haha. It’s gonna act as a prequel to the JRPG that’s gonna come in 2023.

Agreed and yeah, this sounds exactly like a prequel to Hundred Heroes. Probably sets up that game’s story or something.
