…I won’t lie, there’s a feeling of retribution for some us regarding what’s going on at Era. But ultimately, what matters is people sticking together. ResetEra was a fine place once, so was NeoGaf. XboxEra is great, hearing good things about Metacouncil. Discords can be dope, so can be subreddits. But it’s about the people in it, so as long as that sense of group and community continues, it’s not the logo above that counts. I hope that’s something that will make our community stick together regardless of XboxEra’s future, and I wish newcomers here a similarly great experience among familiar and new faces!

You know I’ve been in some heated disputes with people here, I just wanna say tho, it’s all in good faith, and there isnt anyone I dont like.

It’s quite a long story, but in short, a major community (SalesEra) has been practically dismantled by Era moderation, not unlike what happened to many other communities before. They chose to start banning regulars instead of addressing the systemic trolling that they reported for months/years, then were caught lying about timelines and events based on Discord leaks, and again caught insulting the userbase on there. Things went absolutely nuclear and, from my understanding, both the core of SalesEra and NintendoEra are looking to create new communities and to reconnect with existing ones on other forums (such as this one) or Discords.

It’s great to see people helping each other out in these moments: something good coming out from a bad situation.
