I was never a fan but the day that Skill Up complained 10 minutes on the DOOM Eternal review about how “broken” the Marauder fights are I completely gave up on taking any of his takes seriously.

Ι can never understand or take seriously two usual critiques in videogame reviews, the first is when they don’t review something for what it is (in the case of Lost Judgment a detective game) and the second and the most infuriating is the “it doesn’t do anything new/we have already played something like that”. The first doesn’t make any sense whatsoever and the second is dumb af and completely useless as a way to criticize and value the quality of a game especially when it’s something that’s thrown around so easily and without context, of course it’s even more laughable whan it only apllies to certain games (SoR4, Little Nightmares 2 e.t.c.) and it never comes up in others (Spiderman, TLoU2 e.t.c.).
If you want innovation that much at least be consistent about it.

Obviously not in the slightest. Other than his debatable mindset, I also like @Fiendflag find annoying when he, like many others, selectively criticize a game for “not doing anything new”, which can be applied to 99,9% products of the industry. I mean, I played 6 Yakuza games and I know very well they re-use stuff, but the games are solid nonetheless, that’s not debatable.

It could be a mobile game? I ask this because japanese public is more mobile oriented, also TGS is not that big anymore for announcing console/pc games.

Hype deflated seriously. Thought it was gonna be some big new JRPG for console. What a fool I was…
I expected it, japanese and asian public are more interested in mobile games, then pc mmos (and Nintendo games), but SEGA has already PSO2: NG. All the big budget games still made over there are targeted to western audience and TGS is not the right place to announce it.

I don’t think we should expect new big JRPGs. Unless some of platform holders finance them themselves.
Yeah, big publishers will milk only established series, the risk is too great for AAA new IPs in a niche genre like jrpgs. MS should revive Lost Odyssey, they did it for Fable…generally speaking they absolutely need some big profile japanese exclusive, the last one is so distant that many don’t even remember, lol.

Hell yeah! Battle for Bikini Bottom was my childhood gem and i 100%'d its remake. Im so hyped for this. Glad it has all their original voice actors too, no more odd sounding Mr. Krabs
