XboxEra Community Hangout |OT4| Meat Circus

Is XboxERA smaller for anybody else?

In what way?

Text feels smaller on the normal size.

Looks the same to me

See this is something that been’s pissing me off lately is this “brushing aside” of these toxic anti-Xbox people by like the likes of Colt and Timdog.

Just yesterday RedDragon ran his mouth off about Bethesda exclusivity and got shut down by Pete Hines and Aaron Greenburg, and instead of dunking on them, and having them learn something about FUD spreading and stuff, what’s the go-to… EVERY. FREAKING. TIME?!

“X is a good dude. We’re friends IRL, and he likes to play around”

Like these people aren’t here spreding toxic hate and shit at the Xbox community.

“Jaydub is a good dude. He’s just playing around” - Timdog

Have you seen the actual VILE shit some of the stuff these guys post? Celebrating the death of Bethesda’s founder, celebrating every departure from XGS as a sign that “Something’s wrong”

FUCK THAT.

These are not good people Tim and Colt. I don’t give a fuck if you have some kind of weird stockholm syndrome friendship with these “people” on Twitter.

Their behaviour is gross and these actions shouldn’t be brushed aside as “They’re just clowning on Twitter”.

“Just clowning on Twitter” is an excuse that leads to alot of awful shit and stuff being down and gotten away with.

“We’re just clowning on Twitter. We’re just tourists! We’re just kidding when say the vaccine gives you Magneto powers!”

It’s always starts as “just a joke. Just a prank. Just clowning on Twitter”

It’s not that I care about this Twitter bullshit, but it’s frustrating to see people on Twitter run their mouth day and night, talk shit, say awful things about people and communities (not talking just gaming here), and then have it brushed aside as “Just Twitter games. Just clowning on Twitter. X is a good dude”.

If “X is a good dude” then have them prove it and knock off the nonsense.

The way they position things like it’s our fault, not theirs that perception is how it is. It’s really is bothersome. Right off the bat making jokes about how they all get along, they don’t actually have it in for certain brands, or aren’t pandering to certain crowd and grifting, when they totally are. And their only defense when they get called out for it is, no you guys just think that because you’re console warring, it’s just games guys, we love all games

Then they continue to act in the exact way that earned them their bad repuration. Build up people’s perception against them while profiting on their grift. Then when it gets to a certain point, they play it off and shift the blame to their critics, rinse and repeat

Youtube is chalk full of bad faith actors. Which is not surprising, as the format highly incentivises phony, grifting, borderline sociopathic behavior

Dunno man… it kinda sounds to me like all of these people you guys are talking about should just be ignored.

Exactly.

I can’t STAND grifters, more so the ones who try to “reimage” themselves to make more money after the grift starts running dry.

You can’t spend and entire generation talking shit and running your mouth with your podcasts, Twitter, patreon, whatever, then start swinging back around to “Nah, man I was just clowning” and start trying to get back into the community “good graces” to try and make more money.

They are easily ignored and we do that… until people start bringing them on their shows and attempt to “normalize” their behavior with “actually, they’re my friend IRL and we just clown on Twitter”

you guys should really just mute or block these idiots on social media.

but you don’t because deep inside you like this drama and outrage

That was weird.

Or I like identifying and calling out grifter bullshit. I’m not even involved with Twitter hardle at all. Most crap I run in to is Youtube

I do eventually block certain channels. I blocked Dreamcast Guy a while ago. Not Colt, as I do enjoy some of his content. So when I saw DCG pop up on his show it was a very disappointing

You don’t think people who stir up false outrade, FUD, and toxicity shouldn’t be called out, espically when they start trying to sneak back into the community under the guise of “hey man, it was all just a joke, I’m cool”?

Like people listen to grifters on Facebook and Twitter about taking horse deworming medicine to fight COVID-19 instead of getting the vaccine? People are literally eating horse medicine and shitting out the linings of their intenstines because people online told them it was safer to do so that get a free safe vaccine. Should we allow those people to come back into the community after they made their money peddling horse paste to people?

Well I mean…there a degrees here

I won’t equivocate youtube video game grifters with the political creitns who willingly endanger people’s well-being to push their agendas

In theory yes, but it’s all varying degrees of the same thing: grifting.

So no, not exactly one-to-one, but it all shares the same mean-spirited focus of grifting.

But in other more happy things that still involving giving people money…

The new Psychonauts 2 gear in the Xbox shop is sweet.

I really want that glass.

Btu the degrees matter when I determine how shitty and dangerous I feel someone is

Doesn’t mean I won’t engage more with one that are lesser in my eye, because they happen to be more in my purview of video games. There are much worse people, especially in the political side, but I will not get in to that hornets nest here

And yes, I do enjoy doing it(calling them out)…to a point. So Call Me Craig is not totally wrong, just a bit overly presumptuous

Yeah, call these guys out in this forum right here. I’m sure if they see your posts on Xboxera they will see the error in their ways and start their redemption arc.

Couldn’t care less about Colt or Tim, from what I’ve seen from them, them both together seem to amount to a puddle depht of content and personality.
