Directors cut is the most pretentious way to sell a mild upgrade of a game. Certainly fits with Sony’s goal of making every game a very serious movie though.
What IPs of the previous gen were hurt by the exclusivity to a single platform?
tfw Kojima himself disagreed on the usage of Director’s Cut for the upcoming thing means that it is in fact NOT a Director’s Cut lmao
IMO Dreams from Media Molecule, but seems like they’re doing fine right now, but the prospect of it being sooooo much better and expansive on an open platform like PC makes me feel like being exclusive to a plastic box that generally doesn’t even engage in these sort of experiences hinders its reach and potential to the point of actively hurting its growth.
Hades with touch controls is surprisingly a good time
Well, Dreams is something that should have come on PC but on PC we can literally use Unreal Engine and Unity + their stores, so by itself I am not sure if it gained traction. At least with UE and Unity you gain skills that allow you to find a job.
Ugh was it stated before that Stalker 2 had MP? there’s a preorder bonus for a multiplayer badge, MP in that would would be sick. I guess they could go the escape from Tarkov route.
Disco Elysium was supposed to come to PS this summer, and a little later to Xbox. But is it even on PS yet?
yes it has been on playstation for some months already
Oh, then hopefully it will come one of these months. Unless Sony has one year exclusivity on it, lol.
Oh I see now that Windows Central said it’s coming this summer to Xbox. Summer goed up to like end of September?
It doesn’t even mean what it means that’s what’s hilarious about it. They’re calling it a “director’s cut” to associate themselves with movies. That’s it. The term is in no way accurate to what’s happening.
Square Enix was potentially exploitative in their contract with People Can Fly who themselves didn’t seem to look out for their own best interests? There’s only one logical conclusion:
Fuck. Game Pass.

I see that has no room for Directors Cut or NextGen Upgrades.
I mean we know it’s already covered, but it should be explicitly spelled out as the real categories.
Possibly 1 full year, Sony is very insidious with its exclusivity deals.
