It’s because Nintendo wants people playing Nintendo games and buying Nintendo games, and paying access for NSO for the NES/SNES portfolio.
Maybe someday, but Nintendo wants to focus on making sure Switch players play Switch games.

More like because they are insanely greedy, even more than Sony, but on the other end this is not the time for xCloud on Switch when it isn’t even fully on PC, iOS and TV.
But according to insiders there is something brewing between Xbox and Nintendo and that we would find out later in the year. There’s no way it’s Game Pass native ,let alone any games coming natively, so Xcloud is still possible or it’s nowhere near as big and just something else.
We’ll see, insiders are not always correct, expecially concerning high level decisions like this.

Yeah, I agree, but while I can see MS interested (more clout for his lead character), I don’t see where Nintendo could be interested: it’s a popular character who can easily drive sales for sure, but other than that, it’s not really Nintendo associated in any form like every other Smash character.
IF MC is in Smash that’d be like 3 Microsoft reps in total.

Has Snake ever been on a Nintendo console? Don’t think so. Same with Joker when he was added, though since then Persona 5 Strikers came out on Switch.
Well, Konami did a full (bad) remake of MGS on Gamecube. About the Persona character, I didn’t know, but I doubt that MCC is going to Switch, it cannot run over there, X1 itself was at its memory limit and memory is the biggest limit of Switch.

Persona 5 Strikers may not have been announced yet when Joker in Smash happened.
It’s impossible for a current gen mobile hardware to be able to run titles like Forza Horizon 5 or Hellblade 2 so that’s not even a question.
Is it weird that I’m seeing Nintendo fans be more toxic than PlayStation fans? I mean many of them seem to think Xbox’s show was bad while thinking Nintendo’s show will save E3, even though Xbox’s show was more than double the length.
