XboxEra Community Hangout |OT2| Cracking down on shitposting

That halo flighting leak looks and sounds real. Hope it is too. Sounds really fun. I do question why something like the grapple hook is only a one time use. Think it should be a 30 second recharge or something. The barrier only being once makes a lot of sense though.

Playing mcc halo 3 versus a lot… the pit is obviously 343’s favorite map because it’s the most heavily played map in the game.

What’s also interesting is there could be no MTX finally, exactly like MCC ( I have the stong suspicion MCC was a test for Infinite ) with a Battle Pass system instead to earn in-game currency.

So if it ends being F2P with no MTX, that game will be more than huge.

Since it’s free to play there will be a way for Microsoft to make money somehow. Development isn’t free and running the servers costs money. This isn’t charity. Somehow there will be a revenue stream.

I am not huge on multiplayer so forgive me. How does a f2p game without MTX make any revenue?

A F2P game without MTX? Highly doubt that. I’m sure they will have ways to earn things for free, but I’m pretty sure there will be MTX for things like armor coatings.

343 literally confirmed mtx stuff months ago just not in the vein of 5.

The campaign will still be in Game Pass and sold separately, so they might make money from that.

Or they didn’t include them yet in Infinite flighting, or they may introduce a separate premium Battle Pass, who knows.

Obviously there wouldn’t be MTX on a flighting wouldn’t make any since. 343 said it would just be amour coatings and that’s all like fortnite with skins

It’s just not happening. Fortnite and warzone probably make billions a year off their micro transactions(we could look this up). Microsoft will not skip on that.

Already answered that

A quick google search showed that Fortnite peaked at 2.5 billion dollars in one year. If halo has a chance to do that they will.

The halo franchise had made 5 billion$ as of 2015. Infinite COULD make that much with one game.

Making Halo Infinite online f2p IS to monetize it long term and make it appealing with its direct competitors.

Yeah, I know, I already corrected myself. Though, it doesn’t take way the fact you could earn in-game currency by playing. Giving the choice either through playing or spending MTX.

Ya I agree, that is the way to go. Some games do that. Apex does it for their characters. But games like Fortnite make you spend money to buy anything basically.

Maps, forge items, weapons, equipment, and game modes should be given to everyone for free. Cosmetics alone should be the only thing to buy with money, but even those should be attainable through play.

Obviously the campaign will be behind the paywall or gamepass. I’m hopeful that campaign expansions will also be included in gamepass or 10-20$ for people who don’t have gamepass.

People unable to reconcile good mtx model with f2p need to look at how Warframe does it, it’s the best f2p model in the industry easily. Warframe makes a shit ton of money and it doesn’t have anything in the game that can’t be gotten in game outside the one thing called Tennogen, which are community created skins. Everything else can be gotten in game, and the premium currency called Platinum can be traded for items in the game itself and the economy of that is very healthy and the community is very generous to newbies too. Helps that the game itself is pretty much PvE so there’s a lot less toxicity invited naturally.

I really hope Halo could just simply rip off that model lmao its that good.

The no microtranscations part is absolute bull that should of gave it away its fake

Maybe I missed something, but … Why does anyone think microtransactions would be in any Alpha Test segments? Or is the latest news circle not based on the flightings?
