Because it’s way comfortable and yes people do take their switch with them. I do as well.
Not so much anymore because of obvious reasons.

So no one can answer what the positive thing for Xbox users could be?
Xbox owners get the portable that they have been asking for (and some of which already own)
Well most xbox user have a switch. It’s a complementary console for many because it’s focus is soo different.
Like I said, I have a Switch.
And the positive thing? More gamepass users → more money → more deals → more games.
I mean… how does it benefit Xbox users if they release a streaming stick or a tv app? Yet nobody is fighting against that.
Could you just let me play xCloud on my Switch in peace?
Here’s an idea: MS and Xbox help Nintendo make a good and proper online service. As part of that they also create Nintendo Game Pass, and put that on Xbox! No?
I’d buy that for a dollar!
Exactly. I could understand the worries if they port games, because this takes time and effort.
I’m not fighting against xClod on Switch, am questioning the positive spin for Xbox users. Well, maybe it’s just me who don’t get it. Give me NIntendo Game Pass on Xbox or something, that would actually be positive for Xbox gamers.
Anyway, it’s not going to be Xcloud/Gamepass on the Switch. I just don’t see that happening for so many reasons.
It’ll probably be something innocuous like Master Chief in Smash and maybe some Mario Kart stuff in Forza. Or who knows, maybe Sea of Thieves could be heading to Switch.
Matt said that? Must be true then. Guy has as much inside info as my cat does
Xcloud on switch in Japan would make waves
You’re all way off base. Clearly the Xbox/Nintendo colab is about The Coalition remaking…
Wrestlemania 2000!!!
Obviously all of you are wrong it’s not xcloud coming to the switch it’s master chief going to be in the next Mario game
Don’t know what actually going on between Xbox and Nintendo.
But this xCloud discussion has opened my eyes about this formu.
Xbox - they can now target gamer specific market with xCloud. Until now, on andriod they were targeting an ocean of mobile user who need to buy a clip and controller to play on xCloud. There is no such requirment on switch. It’s logon and ready to go situation. It’s also about easy of use. Easy of use is what makes mobile gaming king. That’s why genshi impact has made more then 1 billion in revenue for a mobile game. Nintendo sells more then anything right now and a great handheld form factor. It’s much better then Razer or cliping phone on Xbox controller. Switch users are already gamers. Selling xCloud service to them will be much easier then selling to andriod users.
Switch - xCloud won’t get on switch for free. Nintendo will definitely get some cut. The sales will increase more without updating the hardware. Think about selling a console where hardware specs doesn’t matter for the type of games you are playing on it. Switch will easily overtake any other console sales in history. There are 60+ million switches out there. Why miss a chance of getting more revenue out of the hardware? Will it be harmful for switch? Tell me, would someone choce between a game like Mario and Halo? Either the person would be a fan of both games and play both games regardless of which platform they are on or he will only play the game which he likes and won’t even care about the other game anyway. Having Halo, Forza, Fable on switch won’t stop people from playing there Mario games on it. All this, and Nintendo is still getting a pay check.
Playstation - Bringing xCloud on playstation is useless. It doesn’t offer anything. Maybe someone has a TV without andriod and only use PS5 on it could be happy about xCloud on playstation. Switch offers form factor of the handheld. PS doesn’t. Maybe someone only like PS controller?
Fanboys - an eye opener🤦 - the best i got today is that fans don’t want to share there toys. Like, up until now they haven’t realised that there games are already on PC and Andriod. This is last gen perspective. Closed platform kinda a thinking. Fans worry about optics of xbox brand. Well just look into the past month and see what optics made Xbox brand shine. It’s the Gamepass and hardware specific features. Outriders is multi-platform but being on Gamepass brought all the glory to Xbox. Just see what’s happening with returnal on playstation. Despite being exclusive, it’s been criticised for its $70 tag. The optics will be huge, Gamepass will grow and grow in millions to 50 million + more. Gamepass is the brand and focus for xbox now but that’s only part of the equation.
Hardware - The other part of the equation is Series Hardware. Xbox is making headlines with BC and hardware specific features like quick resume and easy to use expansion storage. Then they have a console at $300 with next gen capabilities. When someone wants to game locally, Xbox has them covered. There are many many many incentives to buy a console instead of going stream only. It’s game streaming via Xbox hardware onto switch. Games will be running on Xbox hardware. They fully gonna utilise Xbox rdna2 and all the ML features. Games aren’t coming native to switch. Switch is just a dummy handheld for Xbox. Streaming won’t be a sure fire hit among the console market players. It won’t make anyone stop playing on there local console anytime soon. But it will definitely increase there engagement with there console or platform. People will spend more time playing games.
Value - Many see Xbox hardware will lose there value because Nintendo will have more games then Xbox. Which is ridiculous. People thinking there is no difference between streaming on a switch and playing 4k on a tv with no lag, i hope these people doesn’t come to Game Analysis OT anymore. There is no reason for them to be talking about 4k anymore.
I never understood this gaming industry’s obsession with console exclusivity. Look what this has made of Sony. They are shutting down games production from one of there creative studios. This exclusivity thinking is killing innovation. Microsoft is looking to make innovative games via cloud hardware which won’t be possible on local hardware but gamers only care about there plastic boxes. I am not that gamer.
Edit:
tl:dr
For me it definitely takes an hour or even longer. And I am on ethernet and have FTTH.
