Very unique and awesome.
Ubisoft will be just fine. If their free to play games hit, they will make a shit ton of extra cash and if they donât, theyâll simply go back to doing what they normally do and are still doing anyway.
Diversifying their portfolio makes sense. Mixing in F2P with traditional AAA, Game Pass options, DLC and smaller games, gives them plenty of options to generate revenue. As long as they donât go exclusively F2P, I have zero problem with it.
As long as I still get more Assassinâs Creed, Immortals, Division, Ghost Recon and Far Cry games along with Skull & Bones, Avatar, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and hopefully eventually a new Splinter Cell game, I have no problem with Ubisoft trying out free to play games. I think The Divisionâs Heartland game will do good. Not sure what other free to play games they have announced if any.
More like next Battlefield map is coming from Codemasters
Anyone else think Skull & Bones might be changed into a free-to-play game?
lol. It will never happen, but I do sometimes wish Bethesda would revert to the heavy RPG elements of Morrowind.
At least, for a spinoff or whatever.
Iâm hoping the delays is them adding a huge single player campaign, but to answer your question I donât think so. Itâs probably just gonna be a naval warfare version of For Honor. Theyâll start with a couple of ships and theyâll add more over time through seasons.
I would be surprised because the game was originally a MP only game. But rumors and reports have said that the gameâs been delayed numerous times in order to add a single player story campaign and more depth to the game overall.
My personal feeling is that I donât know how Ubisoft can screw up a pirate game? SMH. They have the blueprint with Black Flag and Rogue. Just take out the AC stuff and go from there. Give me hunting, harpooning, treasures, Black Flag combat with whoever the protagonist would be and give me my ship and let me pillage and plunder. Plus naval combat of course. And underwater areas. UGH and ARGH. Canât believe that theyâre having so much trouble. SMH.
My thinking as to why it might be free-to-play is because there were those rumors of Ubisoft rebooting the gameâs development to take inspiration from Fortnite. But if thereâs a single-player campaign then obviously itâs not going to be F2P. I remember looking forward to the game but all my hype has been killed. I agree with @peter42O, I canât believe theyâve had so much trouble with this when they already had a solid foundation.
Hey look, making a multiplayer pirate game in a shared open world is super hard.
I think the gen will start when anyone can step into a store, buy a console and take it home.
Itâs coming out in early Feb 2022
We should all be writing vague tweets like this. We can all take credit for whatever comes out.
Why do you think February?
Oops I meant Jan
Oh, hahaha.
The reason why I think itâs 100% and not a mistake is when a game or something has been delayed for me before they usually just say we will email you closer to release to confirm date. With Far Cry 6 they sent me a email saying the release date changed to jan 4th.
