Oh we will, they’re going to turbo inject money into Xbox so they can ride this growth like no tomorrow.

I expect GP to get some big games, more studios and more studio growth ahead of us.

Edit: Was assuming it was QoQ which banks often show (my job), it’s YoY so obviously the hardware sales will skyrocket in comparison. Games revenue increasing 50% and overall increasing 34% is just a continuation of Xbox killing it.

Hopefully some equity research questions are about the gaming division.

The 232% number sticks out as even better than one would expect; the Series consoles came out right before the halfway mark of Q4, so a 100% increase is fair, but that extra 132% is a combination of supply starting to flow and Xbox’s demand increasing (likely this to a big degree). Don’t have any good numbers but the actual launch days should pack a huge punch that would point to even an 100% increase being great in Q1.

I’m not going to dig into old 10-Qs but it could be useful to compare the same two quarters of growth for the last generation, factoring in the release date timing of the holiday quarter.

Hopefully some equity research questions are about the gaming division.

Good spot. I know PlayStation has been rightfully getting the headlines for the records it has broken in terms of sales, but the evidence is equally pointing to the Xbox having very strong demand as well.

Isn’t it a comparison of Q3 last year and Q3 this year? So pre XSX/S numbers vs XSX/S numbers.

Yeah you’re right, I just looked at the slide in this forum which wasn’t perfectly clear. It’s all YoY which makes the jump basically obvious

The 50% gaming revenue increase seems more significant with that in mind, but have to see how much of that is from hardware
