Certainly, would love to see arcades revived but they would have to be different and getting this 60 hour plus games there would be chore. However, I think statements like those given by Shawn Layden should be directed at finding solutions and means to help the industry and not ones focused on exploiting consumers. Gaming is just too expensive compared to other entertainment. I think digital Game rentals would be a good option unfortunately rentals like Gamefly tend to be physical which results in very limited copies to rent.
I kind of wish theyâd use those tiles to push âhey, you bought this game but havenât played it, want to play it now?â
Nah. Thereâs not enough times in the multiverse for me and that feature. Theyâd cover my whole screen and keep shaming me. Speaking of though, as much as Microsoft insists on pushing copilot as an âAI Buddyâ, I wouldnât be against Cortana coming back to âpersonalizeâ the Xbox experience. Iâd be fine with her shaming me about my Xbox backlog. She could be like Alexa in that South Park future pandemic special . Like her Halo personality but turned on each gamer. âSpartan, I notice you bought Skyrim 3 times and never finished the main quest.â
100% the lack of creativity in the gaming industry is becoming such a problem as these companies struggle to increase margins. I know publishers donât like rentals and second hand for physical disc 100% the lack of creativity in the gaming industry is becoming such a problem as these companies struggle to increase margins. I know publishers donât like rentals and second hand disc copies because they only make the one sale while multitudes more experience the game. Thatâs where stuff like Game Pass and digital subscriptions come in. But it is very strange how thereâs not a pure digital rental program like movies have (at least not that I know of). And then thereâs still so many more ways the industry could get creative and expand the value of coming beyond purchasing games and playing them in your home. I was just throwing out random ideas, but that type of thinking is what I mean. If these companies are having financial issues with game margins then they should innovate and find new ways to deliver value to consumers THAT THEY CAN CHARGE FOR. Like again itâs a big investment and a random idea, but if we got a proper E-Sports arena that like leveraged AR or VR headsets then it could go nuts as a way for new consumers to experience, gain value from, and financially support gaming. They could charge big bucks for tickets like normal sports and if it gets popular enough massive bucks for ad space. And I get that those big changes come with risk and are a big investment, but I do seriously hate that all this late stage economy supports is short sighted CEOs focused on cutting costs or exploiting users more with higher pricing.
I like the general idea of Video Games looking to do more adaptions in other media. Thatâs a good revenue stream and can bring new consumers into the market. I like stuff like cloud gaming and the Xbox Full screen mode as a way for platforms to expand organically to new audiences that they didnât really service before. I even like stuff like Nintendo trying to push for more theme park exposure and get revenue through that whole. Family friendly festival vibe. But thereâs so much more the industry can and should be doing thatâs not really even being entertained because it all comes down to the short term bottom line. Unfortunately thatâs how all business is these days. It really feels just bland overall. The people in the strongest positions to really invest in innovation, arenât because their shareholders just want more money immediately. And the people in the weaker positions lack the resources, and more importantly popularity, to innovate much
I feel like itâs been understated how big of a move putting Xbox to the forefront of windows gaming is. For all the Asian markets not interested in Xbox consoles, and for all the markets that just generally prefer PC gaming over console gaming, this will push them to start thinking about the brand. Itâll expand Xbox Play Anywhere and if the next gen Xbox is focused, as said, on unification and compatibility then itâll massively grow Xbox support globally. It starts with this device, but the Xbox Full Screen experience is coming to all gaming handhelds and PC eventually. Itâll only keep getting better and devs will only have more reasons to work with Xbox.
Oh theyâre definitely incorporating this into a game with time travel. They gotta .
I was looking on the gamescom Xbox recap tile, and I didnât think I realized both COD and Silksong were not only GP day one but XPA this year (though oddly COD doesnât include the battle net version). Thatâs a huge get for advertising Xbox Play Anywhere. I hope Xbox takes advantage of it. Probably the best time to really get people on board with XPA and as a result push more publishers into supporting it.
I think the Xbox Ally at Gamescom helped them highlight Play Any Where very well much better than any of the ads. Lots of good takes on it and ASUS will no doubt push this in Asia. I would imagine they would push this at TGS as well. I was watching Destinâs video and was thinking I would like to get a XPA version of Pragmata. Will be getting FF7 integrade. I think this could go places for Xbox. It also puts a spotlight on the Xbox app which is good. They just might be able to best Steam.
Can we please ban this gif
Not until everyone uses blue sky.
Not going to happen, thereâs just way too many reporters not on there
Thatâs the sad partâŚ
I donât think you can block gifs. I just blocked his posts entirely. (No offense. But itâs incredibly annoying and has been going on for months.)
I am really interested in the handheld and I will be looking to purchase depending on the reviews and the in depth hands on.
Do we know when we will get some indepth hands on for the rog xbox ally x?
Started Planet of Lana last night, and my goodness the music reminds me of the more atmospheric Star Wars pieces in the best ways.
