Are the game pass missions working (The daily one for both console and pc)for anyone or is it just me? I tried both pc and console and yet it has not shown anything of its completion, which is kinda weird as i checked over on the offical xbox support and it said it was fine as rain so its odd to say the least.

This has to be the most full experience of early access. Whatever that means.

So coincidentally enough, after posting this, I read that PS3 purchases have not been working for like three days with no word yet from Sony on what’s going on. The web store for PS3 purchases was already disabled, and even though it’s been glitchy and slow for a long time, it’s technically still possible to purchase PS3 content on a PS3 console. Hopefully this is a temporary issue - if the store being down was intended Sony would say something. But they also haven’t yet acknowledged the downtime or said when a fix is coming.

The GamePass Quests have been spotty at best most of this week. I was fortunate up until today. The “Play Jewel” was delayed by an hour when I kicked it off first thing in the morning. I think the others are delayed by at least 9 hours for Console, PC, and Game Pass quests.

I just got notification for Console and Game Pass quests but did NOT complete the Console Weekly Streak (yet).

EDIT: And 10 minutes later and PC Quest just notified and registered as completing. Still nothing for Console Weekly Quest.

Weirdly I had pc problem yesterday. Now it seems like today is on console as I didn’t get mine.

Edit: It appears to be fixed or slowly fixing itself. Console one pops up and I haven’t touched the console for like 5 hours ago.

Made it back to Honglan in NG+/Casuality 1, and I tried my best to win the first time, put every bit of effort into beating her instantly like I have been doing with all the other bosses. She still managed to kick my ass once when she went into her second phase, on the bright side, the consort outfit is really good, checking my stats shows that all my mitigation is going better than it was when I fought most bosses.

A lots of things happened this gen that none of us saw coming, but i must say, one of them (for me at least) is Xbox studios actually overtaking Sony ones in the technical aspect, the newest Ghost of Yotei trailer looks quite dated already for an AAA and it’s not out yet, you compare it with Crimson Desert or AC: Shadows and they play on totally different leagues on the open world action games section graphically talking.

We reached a point where lightning is the most important aspect to step up the graphics from a game, and most Sony studios are just too behind there, it always feels so flat, luckily MS with lumen, RT and even PT does a great job.

Avowed is the best performing UE5 title i’ve played like by far, if they manage to make the engine run this way on games like Gears of War, it’s going to be a monster

Battlefield 6 beta is nice. Very smooth, haven’t had a framedrop once, clean, but visually not groundbreaking or anything, good enough. But it plays great. Loving the revive plus drag body away mechanic.

I do find the incredibly small amount of blood on screen unfortunete. I mean no gore, ok, also unfortunate because that IS what a grenade or worse can do, but just a bit more blood is welcome in my opinion. Seems a tad too clean in that regard.

In the large scale maps I kept dying and dying by snipers, this ruined my enjoyment quite quickly. But I definitely had fun in the smaller scale maps. Gonna take a good while before I really get into this again, and who knows, maybe even not suck?:face_with_tongue:

On chapter 2 (after the prologue and chapter 1) on Mafia: The Old Country, and really enjoying it so far.

They’ve nailed the atmosphere, the feeling of being a nobody looking in on the family and the hard lives built on respect.

Performance has been good too, and it’s pretty - the combat is fun (even the stealth bits) and the story is definitely enough so far to get me invested and hating the bad guys lol

Sounds like a big step up from Mafia DE and 3 because visually I found both to be a bit too soft, a bit blurry really, not consistent. So there isn’t a big sacrifice in sharpness and fidelity compared to quality/resolution mode? And is it mostly stable?

I admit I’m playing on PC with DLSS on, but graphics card wise my setup isn’t that much higher than a Series X, so I’d hope performance is pretty good there too.

In particular, many games have major loading lag in places (for example when exiting the menu - it was a reasonably frequent issue I had with AC Shadows) or pop in / image oddities that generally exist across all versions - but I’ve found it to be a polished package similar to Avowed in that I’m not seeing any stutter or artifacting which is a good sign

I thought it wasn’t popping all day, but open my app to find that it not only popped for play a PC game and play a game pass game (it didn’t count console thought I may not have hit 10 minutes there), but for Game Pass it went from 5 days to 7… of course it’s also gone from a 4x streak to 2x. I’m an insider and would be fine if this was an isolated insider issue cuz that’s what I signed up for. Hate that it seems to just be blanket random though. Hopefully it’s resolved soon. It’s been weird for a while especially on PC. I’ve had it pop “play a PC game” when I played a cloud game or a steam game.

The sheer growth of Xbox is one that’s really understated to me. Obsidian and all those studios were bought in 2018 and Xbox Game Studios formed in 2019. Kinda crazy to think how near nonexistent Xbox first party was less than 10 years ago in 2017 and now it’s, just wow. Obsidian is probably their best get.

This is just hilarious to me. I think some gaming sites would serve to wait a bit before running with stories. Or think about them a tad. They almost seem like aggregator sites at this point. This happens a lot with the podcasters. Some will even say that they’re talking out their butts and have no sources and some sites will still run with it.

As long as people keep taking the bait and clicking on links, they don’t care. It’s what modern “journalism” is nowadays.

The worst one is the amount of sites that do those clickbait headlines then don’t give the information till halfway or two thirds down the page after all the ads.

Many all seem to be part of the same groups - ComicBook, many of the TV and film ones and particularly gaming ones.

So often it’s “this game got an update 12 years later”, “Amazon / Netflix just cancelled this hit show” etc - annoys me enough I go to the SavedYouAClick reddit or Google the answer - one useful bit is at least the stupid AI can read it for me and save me wasting my time lol

Has anyone played the game The Thaumaturge here?

I just finished the demo and quite enjoyed it. It really reminds me of Disco Elysium of how it’s played, except for combat of course which sadly (for me) is turn based. But you can enable story mode for combat, so that’s good.

Those who have played it, does combat ever get challenging in story mode or is it very doable?

Yeah, I bought it and played it a bit. It’s good. Good writing, interesting gameplay mechanics, quite good looking and some deep historical slavic atmosphere. I didn’t had much time to dediacte to it, because it’s a lot of reading and a lot of thinking and taking it all in, like a Disco Elysium or some good book series. It’s worth the investment though. I should get back to it when I have nothing else to play…

I don’t think combat is the focus, so I feel it is serviceable. There’s a lot of investigative work and piecing things together, so you need to be a good reader especially because it’s only in english and polish.
