Most casual console gamers will have a PS5. Ergo many games won’t sell that well on it, relatively speaking. It can still be many sales, but relative to other platforms, it may be less than you’d expect.

I remeber that expedition 33 was a popular game on playstation however the high number of sales was on both pc and xbox. Also am kinda shocked that helldivers 2 is becoming more popular on xbox than on playstation. Like how could this happen?

Intuitively: a lot of people, myself included, play on Xbox cos Live put online gaming at the centre of what we love (Halo 2 and PGR2 +Live are why I bought an Xbox). ResetEra is convinced multiplayer games are some inferior product, ultimately, but that doesn’t stop them being popular.

Otherwise? No idea. But it’s funny.

I don’t know any details about where this can be found but AFAIK Mat doesn’t post those on his twitter/bluesky accounts.

Maybe but software sales have been pretty poor on PS5 this gen. It seems the casual games are what sells like the top 10 games and the rest struggle. It’s generally known that indies do better on Xbox and now with Game pass more indies blow up than ever before. The games doing very well don’t seem to be doing so because of PlayStation. I think PlayStations time in the sun is over or ending. There’s no excitement there, Naughty dog’s next game seems to be ad infested probably a good chunk of its funding will come from ADs. Honestly, I’m thinking PlayStation will be announcing more games for Xbox this year probably after the next halo is announced for PlayStation. Even Xbox seems to see that PlayStation sales aren’t all that great if the game isn’t pushing into the casual space. PC and Mobile seem to be where it is these days. Elden ring, Black Myth, Cyberpunk 77 all seem to have crushed it on PC. Who knows Sony might even make an OEM that has all the stores in them with theirs having their PlayStation store exclusive to their OEM device as I don’t think a next gen console that has just their store will work NextGen unless its real cheap which I highly doubt.

…ot going to lie but I for one am very happy that Ubisoft is moving away from licensed games. Avatar and Outlaws are overall 8.0/10 games for me which isn’t bad whatsoever but they didn’t do well commercially or critically. Outside of Sony’s licensed games, only Hogwarts Legacy did amazing because it’s an excellent game. Most just don’t hit/are bad (Gollum) or aren’t what people wanted them to be (Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights). As someone who was pissed when Division: Heartland was cancelled and prefer Division 1 and 2 over Avatar and Outlaws and is super hyped for Division 3, yeah, get everyone on that game and get away from Avatar and Outlaws. Their time came, there was no resurgence (unlike say Rainbow Six Siege for example) and it simply didn’t work. Give me my The Division 3 baby!!!

I don’t disagree. I hate that Insomniac has become a Marvel factory. Ratchet and Clank is like my favorite PS game. But also, all the examples you gave for really bad licensed games are WB games . That’s all in house and really just says a lot about them. Injustice, the Batman Arkham games, and Shadow of Mordor/War were all fantastic. They just really started to chase the wrong thing this Gen (live service and multiplayer). They forced studios to do what they aren’t good at and mismanaged and closed some of their best studios (their best to me). God I still want that Wonder Woman game from monolith with the nemesis system

Yesterday i started playing Battlefield 6 Map for the first time and I immediately noticed something off with the graphics, especially compared to the beta. I thought that looked nice and clean, crisp, good enough. I was playing on this map

And it has this grainy, low res look, grass is grainy and just ugly, that crisp look from the beta is gone. Chromatic aberration vignette and film grain are off. I checked the Xbox and tv settings but all is well, every other game looks fine. A few days ago this was talked about on Reddit as well, both Xbox and PS5 players noticed it.

And this is in auto(balanced) mode. I find the visuals in MP right now very underwhelming, and the previous BF legit looks crisper and cleaner.

I guess with the demand for memory for AI compute, cars, tv, and just about every appliance that people are trying to force some sort of smart connectivity for. Memory is in high demand and not enough being made to for everyone so, companies that want priority need to pay up.

Its from the AI bubble. This isn’t that different from the Bitcoin bubble where the GPUs (graphic card) prices shot up easily by 100% - 200% (2x to 3x) the normal price.

I agree with you in regards to WB. They really messed up WB Montreal, Monolith since they’re gone and Rocksteady. But it is what it is.

I don’t mind licensed games but if I can get other games instead, I would go with the other games.
