While obviously there could be issues (particularly given Kojima seems like someone prone to going overboard and needs reining in), yeah I think OD being cancelled is likely more wishing from the Reset lot given they think Kojima should forever be chained to PlayStation and that Xbox having a game from him is heresy.
On the plus side for them, it wouldn’t surprise me if OD becomes multi-platform (beyond Xbox and PC) or at least just a timed exclusive…

Great news for the victims at last.
Unfortunately for the company it’s likely going to damage their stock price even further.
It might be the final nail in the coffin for Ubisoft. They are currently sat at £1.04 billion.. I’m guessing they go sub 1 billion in the next few days.
Once they are in the millions it won’t be long before such a large company goes bankrupt.
The next investor call is going to hurt them. I am willing to bet they will use rumor like Tencent purchasing them to ease the fall.

Yep, I think they will be doing lots of clutching of straws if I’m honest.
I will be amazed if they are still valued over 1B by the end of the week.
Considering the size of their employee headcount and that their flagship AC games usually have a budget around 300-350 million and their other AAA games also have a budget of around 200-250 million it doesn’t look good.
It could get to a point next week when their budgets for upcoming games far exceed the company’s entire market value which is clearly not sustainable (more cancellations will be expected).
I hope Ubisoft are OK, I admit I’ve not played Ghost Recon in years but I spend close to 100 hours in every Assassin’s Creed they produce and really enjoy it - and I’ve loved some of their smaller projects like Immortals: Fenyx Rising.
Also despite the bad eggs above, as a French developer they seem to have a better mindset of trying to avoid so many layoffs purely to maximise profit they do seem to try and keep their teams employed.
I’d worry if an American publisher took them over they’d see lots of fat to cut, as the US (and unfortunately the UK) culture is profit margins above all, and screw the workers…

Looking at portfolio, it doesn’t seem much. Just mods and maybe one game that didn’t do well. No offense.

Death Stranding 2 sold 71,964 in Japan. The first one sold 185,909. I hope that deal doesn’t last too long. Otherwise, Kojima will have to endure it for a while.
