It’s about expanding Xbox to everywhere, mostly talked about mobile as it is the main challenge. Next gen hardware is still there but they still want more engagement. I mean if the console cost at least $700, how can they expand further.

A lot of casual Fifa players (there’s a lot of them out there) will have no idea something like this exists without a screen like this
It’s a 1 second click to get rid of and you never see it again, the people that whine about stuff like this…hope they never get into marketing bcause this is as basic and effective as it gets

The problem isn’t even just paying to keep it off Xbox, it’s that its 2 parts of a planned trilogy, so that’s really going to complicate things
If the third game is also locked down in some regard then that’s awkward if they are ready to bring the first 2 to Xbox/Switch 2
FF7R was already on PS+, the lowest tier too. That’s how I played it. It sounds like it’ll come to Xbox but is either early in development or the work hasn’t started yet.
Perhaps they’ll do a package for FF7 Remake and FF7 Rebirth.

I wouldn’t expect the FF7 remake trilogy until it’s all been out on PS for a bit, safest bet.

Pretty much this. I don’t see the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy getting ported to Xbox until after the third part releases and even then, would probably be a year or two later. My guess is 2029 on next gen Xbox.
Aside from that, I am hoping that FF XVI and their smaller games like Valkyrie Elysium, Star Ocean The Second Story R and all those pixel remasters get ported which I believe is a good bet since Dragon Quest III (and 1/2) is releasing on Xbox day one.

I don’t see why a company who isn’t doing great financially would wait another 4-5 years to release a trilogy of games (likely in one package, because how else would you release 3 games at once) when they could sell you a game in a year and then sell you another game in 4-5 years. Not to mention, a trilogy of JRPGs at one time is sure to be a turn off for many.
According to Jez there is nothing requiring them to wait until the last game in the trilogy is out.

Yeah, it makes sense to me to get it on there while people still care about it. Gamers are fickle , by the time the trilogy is done they’ll be onto the next thing and likely wont even care much about FF7 finally coming to xbox.

i mean FF7 and all the Kingdom Hearts 1.5, 2.5, 2.8, 3, … games are already on Xbox. If you play them you get a pretty good idea how FF7R is like

Makes sense they need the money or the help now not later. I would at least think they would try to use a big event like this to make a splash. Also, if the new Nintendo console is a revealed they could use this to announce the series releasing on Nintendo again. I would think a planned release of the games between the remaining months and 2025 would make sense. The FF series needs all the eyes it can get and Game Pass would be a good way to get that.

Meta has their big press conference in a few days and the price of the Meta Quest 3 S is supposedly $299. No word yet on if Microsoft will have a rumored Meta Quest Xbox edition or whatever.

Yeah, saw the commercial leak. Such a good price to be honest! Almost tempting me to upgrade my Quest 2 since some games are exclusive to the newer hardware.
