Don’t know about other countries, but over here the Xbox controllers are €20 cheaper (RRP.)
And that built-in battery costs Sony about 50 cents.

Yep, €20 difference here as well.
That’s a good price gap. Fair for what you get.
I haven’t seen it, so it might be out there, but a $10 increase where it is bundled with a rechargeable battery would be a nice option.
IMO the Xbox controller +rechargeable pack is hands down the best controller option out there.
Thanks for the info, and it’s insane to think that the difference will be larger now.

Damn. Concord really did damage them.
Series controllers are very often on sale as well. Just got the pink vapor one for my daughter as she loves how it looks, was like 50$ Canadian at Costco. I think MS is exactly where it needs to be in terms of tech in their controllers, just need to add hall effect sticks and it’ll be perfect.
PS5 and Switch controllers cost a fortune compared to Xbox Series pads. MS would be wise to keep it low, especially since it’s also a very good seller with the PC crowd.
It could be Google spying on me but I just saw in my Google news feed that Lenovo is selling the green and purple controllers for $39 USD with the use of a code:
Wow, great price. I picked up the Electric Volt. Thanks for the heads up!
James Earl Jones passed way yesterday, may he rest in peace.
I loved him as Mufasa and Darth Vader, but my favourite scene of his is still his cameo as himself in Big Bang Theory where he’s winding up Carrie Fisher - both were great actors and sorely missed
Those battery packs might be slightly more convenient. But I’m a fan of the good old rechargeable AAs. Much cheaper and much higher capacity.
I’d always opt for convenience .
I use a multi-controller Fosman dock which comes with 2200mah battery packs.
Once me and/or my daughter finishes playing we just drop our controller down on the dock stand and it’s fully recharged the next time we play. We never come close to low battery even during my/our longest gaming sessions.
It’s also just so much more convenient for kids/teenagers as they seem to think everything (except their phones) ‘magically charges’ otherwise - the same way their laundry magically cleans itself .
Gives me that “get 2 jobs” vibe.
The user I never heard of, so be advised to take this as a grain of salt.
I had to read the tweet a few times. It seems to be positive. Xbox helped them without influencing them in any way. But they didn’t say how or regarding what they helped them.
Why the hell are IGN presenting some livestream coverage of the 8 minute Playstation tech coverage (started 2 hours ago)?
You would think it’s some kind of showcase or something .
I was the first to say the PS5 pro would be 700 bucks
