It’s okay to not like something. The game kind of opens up after a few hours but if it doesn’t click for you, play something that you like more.

I would like to know what you didn’t like though. I’m curious.

Without writing a dissertation, I’m not engaged in the story or characters and find the feature set of the game to be lacking compared to The Outer Worlds. I don’t see myself pushing past the second biome unfortunately.

Apparently it matches an RTX 4070 mobile which is still mighty impressive, at least for raster performance.

Ok, this actually slaps!

I literally told everyone this would happen, because I have a modicum of understanding of the economy and the geopolitical fuckery we’ve been going through the last five years, and I remember many a voice saying the price wouldn’t matter… yeah.

Bloomberg should hire me and fire that other guy with an agenda (and is often wrong)…

My analysis has been running circles around that lot lately. People making +100k/year acting like that sticker price wasn’t a massive obstacle need to have a reality check.

I make 100k a year (Canadian though, not US) and even I think that’s a lot of money lol

I would have paid for a Xbox Series X Pro though but I would have been in a mental turmoil for a few months :joy:

While money isn’t an issue for me, I am happy with the Series X performance as well as the PS5 so no need to upgrade until a next gen console releases. Microsoft made the right call skipping the half step upgrade.

Also something I’ve been saying for years - backed by Goosen and Panello conversations. People are going to need a real reason to upgrade and Pro versions don’t cut it, especially at that price or when you consider the minuscule delta in real world application over the Series X.

Exactly. Many stuck in the bubble are ignoring the reality of the situation, where 50% of gamers aren’t even upgrading from last-gen Xbox One or PS4 to Series S|X or PS5. Instead they give us gems like “No worries, TikTok will carry the MidGen:rofl:

Lately I am playing through Kunitsu-Gami from Capcom via Game Pass and I am having a blast with the game but I also wanted something more pick up and play to have ready to go on my Xbox so I decided to play Ridge Racer 6 (yes for the first time) so I put my retail copy from 2006 on my SX, downloaded the game and started playing after a few minutes.

After a few races and having a lot of fun with the game I paused and thought how fuckin’ awesome is that I am playing a game from 2006 through my 19 years old retail copy on top of that on my Series X…Xbox is on a whole other level in terms of ecosystem/consumer friendly features in the console space and we take that for granted. And people say with so much ease that they are ready to jump ship next gen to Playstation…I am not giving up all those features for a few Sony 1st party games that MAY interest me, but that’s just me I guess. :man_shrugging:

Anyway I just wanted to share that, the whole BC initiative/team on Xbox was amazing and deserves all the love and appreciation and then some.

Saw a video by Alex on this today and I’m not sure whether to dislike this or be slightly curious about it. I just don’t know.

I would take anything gen AI related with a large grain of salt on whether it is usable in real world and another grain of salt on whether it is affordably usable in the real world.

If they have anything it’ll be little demos for fun, not full up games. This isn’t anywhere near ready for prime time for any reasonably complex games

Ridge Racer 6 is one of my favourite games and I actually play it once in a while every few weeks. It’s always installed on my Series X. I really don’t know why they stopped making them as the modern arcade racer is nowhere near Ridge Racer imo, that drift mechanic is one of my favourite in any racing game.

And besides, whether you judged it worth the price or not, the upgrades with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro were basically straightforward and easy to see. With PS5 Pro the focus has been on PSSR upscaling which is anything but straightforward. When you need a DF video to understand which graphical elements look better on Pro and which look worse, and often the overall subjective result is worse, I don’t think the case is being made.

The whole crossworlds thing is quite cool, this seems like something actually new in a (kart) racer. And I gotta say that Mario Kart really needs something truly new too.

It’s not showing but this is the new Sonic Racer.

Finished my replay of Halo 5 and my verdict is that people were too harsh towards it. The game is still absolutely gorgeous—I think even better looking than Infinite but that may be a matter of preference of art directions.

Gameplay is tight, very much enjoy boosting, Promethean weapons rock, good variety of environments. I liked the squad based and dual perspective approach to the campaign. The story is solid. What are the real negatives here?

Did the game live up to the hype of trailers or the promotional podcast prefacing the game? No. There are plenty of elements here that didn’t realize their potential. The game is very good, though. Locke was not a bad character. Cortana as the villain was fine. I would have loved a direct sequel to this game.

I recently replayed Infinite as well which was an awesome experience. Both games have their pros and cons. I hope the next Halo is a blended hybrid of the two. But again, I look back and ask, what the fuck was everyone’s problem with this game? I even hopped back into the multiplayer and was enjoying my time. Wish warzone was still populated!

Thank you for your answer.

Yeah, it is lacking some features compared to other WRPG. I can see how it can feel not as deep as anyone would want. Exploration, combat and writing are what’s good, but also a matter of taste.

Oh, I enjoy these comparisons! Long time indeed  I’ll post the Swedish list:

  • #2 Call of Duty
  • #5 Minecraft
  • #8 Avowed
  • #10 Forza Horizon 5
  • #16 Overwatch 2
  • #26 Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
  • #30 Diablo IV
  • #34 Flight Simulator 24
  • #40 Sea of Thieves
  • #44 Fallout 76

  • #48 Fallout 4

No Halo’s or Motorsport on our top 50…
