I started reading it and I have one worry now. Apparently you have to pay by credit or debit card to register as dev. I don’t have a credit or debit card. I always use PayPal for all my purchases on Xbox. Hmm, well, I’ll look into it more tomorrow.

Ha, I picked up on that one too.
If anything it’s quite the opposite, the issue IMO is how they’ve marketed it. “Play it day one on Game Pass” still means nothing to most people.
They still need to a better job at marketing the fact that you get hundreds of games at incredible value and brand new games such as Call of Duty (worth $70 alone) included on the day it releases at no extra cost.
Even now when I tell people about GamePass they seemed shocked, normally followed by “but can I get it on Playstation”.

Market wants 80 euros AAA titles with overblown to hell and back budgets that 80% of them consistently under perform because they didn’t hit the streamers/social media zeitgeist like Elden Ring or Baldur’s Gate 3 and/or didn’t get a >93% metascore while the black hole GAAS/gacha games are making millions! sounds great to me! btw game pass is the worst thing that ever happened to gaming!

If Game Pass was so bad, Sony wouldn’t have “Game Pass at home” (PS Plus Extra)… Even Nintendo has a subscription service with classic games…

If Gamepass was so bad, publishers and devs wouldn’t put their games into it. It mystifies me to think that these people think Xbox is holding these games hostage and are forcing everyone to take Gamepass deals for no compensation.
The hateboner everyone has for Gamepass is just so weird. Sony has basically the same service, yet we never hear about how they’re ruining gaming or how they are the reason the industry is in trouble. Somehow it’s the console/service with the smallest user base that is the bane of the industry.

It’s amazing I took my razer Kishi out and started playing Xcloud and suddenly there was a gathering, people asking me all sorts of question. Sometimes I wonder maybe Xbox should just pay people to walk around playing Xcloud. This happened some time ago, but it left quite an impression of just how much people Microsoft still needs to reach.
