Would it be possible to have people who are posting links to social media (or maybe even anything) add a couple of word description of what they’re posting so that people can tell the topic without having to click on stuff if it doesn’t give them a preview?
I especially don’t feel like clicking on links to X to see what people are talking about, but in general it might be a nice gesture.
I am having so much fun with Star Wars Outlaws! Probably my GOTY. I’m sure it helps that I’m playing it after several patches, but this game is awesome.
I can see why Ubisoft thinks it’s so important to delay Assassin’s Creed Shadows so it can be the “post-release patched” version right out of the gate.
mini-review for the Attack on Titan VR game on the Quest, it stinks. Interesting to start but it is truly hideous, graphically, with textures not far off an uprezzed nintendo 64. It made me feel really sick at times when it hitched, and the gameplay never really evolved over its short, buggy runtime
In the end it all comes down to a very simple rule. If you make a product for the mass market, it needs to appeal to the mass market. Otherwise you’re in trouble.
Yep issue is the US market in particular feels polarised, so I’m not sure much can have mass market appeal anymore without somehow cleverly being subversive while also appearing okay to the other lot - South Park is one of the few examples I can think of still, and who knows maybe GTA6 will achieve it.
The UK is only slightly better, and the EU and much of the world don’t seem far behind.
If you pander to one side, you piss off the other - while the stompy feet lot probably aren’t as numerous as they think, even a minority boycotting it could be the difference between profit and loss.
I’ve never been more glad not to be working in marketing, sales or the creative arts…
I am a big graphics guy, and at times I forget how it’s just an extra factor that enhances the experience but certainly not the end all be all.
Ocarina of Time perfectly shows that. The blocky graphics, low resolution, the low framerate don’t matter at all because the game itself is just so excellent and has withstood the time marvelously.
So I’m sure I’d love Tears of the Kingdom too, but I still want that Switch 2 to enhance its visuals.
Hey @Doncabesa regarding the focus on Patron content I read in the week ahead email, these are intended to remain just for Patrons. How will a Patron watch these videos whether they be live or several months from now be older content made for the Patrons?
In general, they will be either unlisted YouTube videos or MP3s uploaded to Patreon itself, which you can play through the site, its mobile app, or download the file. Everything is listed in a collection so that it’s easy to find every episode of a given series.
YouTube just makes it so much easier to watch, vs. uploading directly to Patreon and forcing people to use a web browser or the phone app.
Always open to suggestions at well. With how rough making money via ads on websites is we badly need to grow the Patreon without it feeling like our long-time supporters are feeling left-behind in any way.
On Reddit you should never post codes in their entirety, as there’s bots that scoop them up before anyone else can.
I’ve no idea if that’s something that occurs on the internet at large, but it wouldn’t surprise me. It could also be some lurker who don’t even have an account. But one would think in that case common courtesy would dictate they create an account just to say thanks.
