Think it means more for Wolverine than it does Perfect Dark. He evidently left Insomniac due to creative decisions with the game, Initiative likely just capitalized on that.
To me Iām just interested in its relation to PD lol
Totally get that, more of an observation Iāve seen repeatedly.
Funny thing is the last director I can find evidence of leaving The Initiative was in 2022, and I canāt find any news of someone else having taken that role.
Well at first there were multiple directors on the project when they were trying to be an unconventional studio structure I remember people commenting that was too many cooks in the kitchen and stuff like that, and then they shifted to a more normal structure, then also some directors left. It is very safe to assume the project went through a clash of visions at some point at least if not multiple, at first for sure, but even after the shift and adding Crystal there couldāve been but that also could just be the usual dev cycle stuff blown by the doom cycle in the media.
I didnāt think they really did, as in they had not built up a lot of internal positions to handle the vast majority of the work, but instead are coordinating the work with outside studios.
Yeah, but CD joined in 2021 and the last director that left was after that in 2022. Iām guessing CD was doing a lot of heavy lifting and Initiative had an open role to fill for an old buddy lol.
True, thatās a big aspect of their original plan for the studio and itās there still. A shift might not be the proper description, but some plans likely changed, I remember Jez? saying they were planning a structure similar to Valve but it wouldāve been too slow to develop something.
Head of the studio will likely still make the big decisions, with the new CD offering input that could be used or not.
Kind of interesting that The Initiative keeps poaching Insomniac talent. There was another big name they grabbed for a while who eventually left. I donāt recall the name but he was a lead on Sunset Overdrive.
Drew Murray I believe , who I read somewhere left Insomniac again lol.
One thing for certain is tomorrowās headline is going to be pretty busy.
Developers bouncing around is nothing new I donāt think. Iām just wondering what creative differences did this guy have with Wolverine and what is he going to want to apply to Perfect Dark? Like did he have good ideas Insomniac were ignoring or bad ones he didnāt want to let go?
It is what happens when margins are so thing. They really try to squeeze their user base completely.

āAnd thatās why we revert back on our system. My bad.ā
Unfortunately, it doesnāt seem like their userbase is enough or they are just not engaging like Sony would want. Despite what some are saying I believe Sony will be bringing some more titles to Xbox and maybe even more to Game pass as I foresee the CFO pushing for that. hell Divers will I believe move over to Xbox and maybe even Spiderman. Death Stranding already released for the Xbox PC app.

Not crediting the music composers in the subscription-exclusive music streaming service that also doesnāt have nearly the full library of music yet while they purge their music off YouTube and other streaming services. This company doesnāt get enough outrage.
I loved this show when I was younger
They are a dog shit company and have been for a very long time but never get called out because people have extreme nostalgia goggles on for them constantly
People talk about Sony bias in the media but Nintendo is far worse and their community just eats up everything they do no matter how shit it is
