I agree with this but with a caveat - since I don’t play Warzone or anything, those open missions didn’t bother me. The linear missions are definitely better but overall, they were a change of pace.
This is the first COD campaign I have played at launch since probably the X360 era and all because of GamePass.
It’s so addictive I don’t want to put it down, it’s incredible and all included in my existing sub.
It’s times like these when you can see the positives from acquisitions. Depending how well this does for them, I really wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft do continue going after these big COD level IP’s via further acquisitions.
My first COD since playing COD2 and 4 in gaming cafes.
I did play the BO6 beta and almost gave up as I was getting bodied in the beginning. Stuck by it, started popping heads and maxed out beta levelling.
Started by playing zombies for the 1st time today. It’s been fun playing CoD again, and I wouldn’t have given it a chance without gamepass.
I play a game called Vigor and it’s not that popular so wait times can be 2 to 5 matches between online matches.
But now it’s Double XP weekend so those wait times go down to seconds. Maybe a minute tops.
But not this weekend.
Wait times are up to 15 minutes!
And I was trying to figure out why…
CoD is a beast!
Yep that does my head in lol, I click a game icon to play it via Steam and many require it to open - it does in the background for the most part (not taking focus from the gaming window) but when you check it’s always opened that bloody ad popup window too.
It probably doesn’t have much performance impact given the ads don’t change, but as someone who started PC gaming where you literally needed to have Windows running the absolute minimum it still irritates me having these extra windows open lol.
Whereas fair play for Game Pass, the Xbox app will nearly always minimise to task bar with no popups despite being the better deal and needing to check my GP sub…
(Also like that it pops Rewards points for GP regardless of whether I’m on my Series X or PC)
They are so expensive!! We wanted one with 3 compartments recently for splitting recycling etc and it was one hundred quid!! Its extortion.
Don’t tell Apple or PlayStation that!
We’ll end up with a £500 iBin or a £400 Bin Pro…
For once, I’m actually agreeing with PC Gamer here.
Square really doesn’t do good market research - or does, but ignores it in favour of wildly unrealistic expectations.
They too often expect £70 games with less content or in less popular series to sell as well as GTA or Nintendo, and with FF14 they’re charging the same each month as WoW for much less content and much less regular updates.
It’s an existential threat to the company, as FF14 accounts for 65% of its profit - so you’d think content updates for it would be top priority, but it can go most of a year without any significant additions.
Given how Blizzard have been killing it with WoW, lots of other MMOs now exist and other live service games often drop much more content for one-off prices rather than a monthly sub (think Fortnite, ESO, Fallout 76 or even Destiny 2, and others) they really need to be making sure FF14 keeps pace.
If it doesn’t and gamers start to notice, the profit machine that’s allowed them to sustain such big flops as Forspoken and disappointments like FF16 will stop printing money - and they could be in major trouble…
Strange timeline to see COD getting such a positive reception again.
Suprisingly great on cloud as well (supports mouse and keyboard). If streaming quality improves and maintains this feel it would be amazing.
I just got a pop up about enter the Gungeon, saying its ESRB rating was updated to teen, is this something new that Microsoft is trying or have they always done so but not many games ratings get updated?
I needed 5 and to fit it all under the sink… Turned it into a puzzle with containers of different sizes but in the end it fit nicely.
For some reason I find recycling and sorting fun… Pretty sure there is something wrong with me.

Looks like it’s truly arriving in early 2025.
I deleted my post because it was too negative. But I don’t know how IGN is still around.
Anyway, I saw some of the social media stuff Xbox did at the Paris Games Week which is this week and it’s pretty cool. Good presence there which is nice.
So the plan was to just replay GTA 3 and Vice City again, the DE versions, but now I’m replaying 4 too. But man, after the super clean and crisp visuals of the DE versions this is extremely rough. 4 always had these weird grainy shadows, textures, like waterpaint I guess, but at certain moments of the day in the game it could look quite good.
Of all the remasters they should have done one for this. The 60fps sure does help though. But higher resolution would go a long way. Ah well. That being said, i defiantly notice how this game does quite a few things better than V. Really hoping VI brings this all back.
How Cyberpunk is looking at you right now
And Starfield, Sand Land, Witcher 3 B&W and so many more.
I’ve given up being dead set on working on that back log, I’ll now just play whatever I really feel like playing.
You haven’t played Starfield?
Oh I definitely have, started with that last year on launch day, but I never truly got very far. Being very honest when I see the only big city I’ve seen is New Atlantis, did all quests there. I took a break and never returned to it since.
But it could be much worse, I put down Witcher 3 about three times, each of these times I was just about done with Bloody Baron quest, and it was for all kinds of reasons such as waiting for patches for stuff to be fixed, or when the news came the One X patch was coming I waited for that and started over.
RDR2 I got at launch in 2018 only to quit playing after reaching Valentine and finally sitting down in 2023 and finishing it.
Such is life sometimes I guess. =)
I feel ya, I should be playing Shattered Space and Vessel of Hatred and Age of Mythology, but I just want to play more 40K: Rogue Trader.
